  1. Original cart as well?
  2. Billy Bragg Willie & the Poor Boys Slick Willie
  3. A lot of that great young talend came courtesy of the failed Mark Mulder trade (either directly from the Cards or indirectly from the D-Backs from the Haren trade) and this year's Matt Holliday trade. I hope we can resign Holliday... we gave up our best hitting prospect, Brett Wallace, for a shot at the Series and ended up with a big giant THUD instead.
  4. The Douglas replaced this watercolor... Cool!!!
  5. Disc 1 of Art Pepper - Complete VV Sessions. Not a huge late Pepper fan but took a flyer on this box at $10.
  6. A Dave Douglas & Keystone print from Get A Clue Design.
  7. Didn't know where else to post this so I thought I'd start a new thread. Just picked this up from the frame shop. Its an Impulse subway poster I won on ebay a few years ago, forgot about, found last month, and now finally framed.
  8. Just got back from Louisville with these... neither shop I went to lives up to the shops here in St. Louis but both had a few discounted gems. Donald Byrd - The Cat Walk (Japan 1500 series) Curtis Fuller - The Opener (Japan BN Works series) Tina Brooks - Minor Move (2000 Conn) Kenny Dorham Quinten with Jackie McLean - Complete Works (Twofer from the pirates: Inta Somethin' + Matador) Django Reinhardt - Djangology (Bluebird reissue) Charles Tolliver - Mosaic Select (not familiar with Tolliver, purchased entirely on feedback I've read here)
  9. The Song Is You - Arthur Phillips

  11. Here's another *free* possibility: Google scans and OCR's all PDF's it crawls. Allen, you would have to scan the book into PDF format and load it up to a web page for Google to crawl. Google will crawl the document and output to HTML for web viewing. At that point, you can open the HTML file in Word and save it as a Word file. OR - Send me the unbound book. I'll scan them to PDF on the whiz-bang-copier-imager-printer-scanner and just convert the file to Word for you since I sent you on the $800 Kinko's OCR safari. PM me if interested.
  12. Sonny Rollins - The Freelance Years: The Complete Riverside and Contemporary Recordings Art Pepper - The Complete Village Vanguard Sessions Jackie McLean - It's Time (Conn) Donald Byrd - At the Half Note Cafe Vol 1 & 2 (RVG)
  13. Looks like Mapleshade is on board...
  14. Excellent. Thanks for the list! Uploaded to GoogleDocs for instant ref in the shops! :-)
  15. This is more like it... The Jazztet and John Lewis (Argo DG)
  16. ...polar opposite now Gary Burton - Good Vibes (Atlantic). Not sure about this one. First listen in a long time...
  17. Ruby Braff - Braff!! (Epic DG)... love the sides with Coleman Hawkins and the baritone of Ernie Caceras (not familiar with him)
  18. Yeah, pretty much my advice. This does assume Allen has a multiple page scanner and not a flatbed! Well - He could always go to Kinko's or a local mom & pop copy shop to see if they can do it for him. Kinko's may ask him for proof that he's the copyright holder though.
  19. It shouldn't take long IF you have an extra copy of the book that you are willing to unbind. That way the pages could be placed in the automatic document feeder in reasonable increments (25, 50, 75p, etc...). Scan duplex and you're on your way!

Here's a pic of the Fantasy / Debut cover. I may take it into the office and try to scan it on the copier.

  22. Not impossible. In fact, its fairly common for scanners, especially document imaging units (what we used to call copiers) to out to PDF format in addition to JPG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, etc... Both my office Ricoh copier and Canon desktop scanner not only provide output to PDF but also the option to perform in-line OCR. Current OCR and crawling technology is truly amazing. Our enterprise search crawls, in addition to full text search on Office documents and PDF's, also performs full text OCR on image files. You might expect a CAD drawing to be indexed but it also will OCR a JPG or GIF, "sense" text, and index the content accordingly. Can you tell I'm an IT guy? Jeez...
  23. As a Cardinal fan, I would be remiss if I failed to add the '69 Cubs to that list!
  24. I'm late to this thread. I just registered for the World Series ticket lottery after having zero luck with the NLDS / NLCS lottery.... and I'm a (partial) season ticket holder! Ah well - here's the Cards and hoping they can flip the switch like in 2006!
  25. Advice to the Twins... stay the hell *away* from Miguel Cabrera tonight!!!!
