ARod is such a freaking Drama Queen™, he gets hit by a pitch on the thigh and he acts likes he's been hit by a car.

Dislocated right shoulder. This is not good, if it wasn't for the pitching, the Giants would be out of it. On the bright side: Pablo Sandoval will be back in a week, none too soon. Giants baseball continues to be Torture! PS: On the Panda: "Bochy said he and his staff are kicking around the idea of Pablo Sandoval catching a couple of times a week when he returns from the disabled list to help fill Buster Posey's void. Sandoval has not caught since 2009, and not regularly since he was a rookie in 2008." Yikes!

I seem to remember that a sentence or two were written about LaBron's elbow last year -- he milked that one forever. -
Freddie Sanchez goes out hurt for the Giants. It doesn't look good.

We don't want no stinkin' NFL team... Interesting that three of the five teams used to be located in LA. Tim Leiweke has been running the same jive for years about a NFL team. Everyone knows that before a team can come, there has to be a commitment to build a stadium, and the in no way, absolutely no way, that public money will be used -- LA, like all of Cali, is a financial mess, and cannot afford to spend any money on something as bs as the NFL. Besides, we get three or four games on tv every Sunday, who wants to take that away to watch a relocated Jacksonville Jaguars team? heck, they don't even want that team in Jacksonville! Another basketball team in the area, I can see, not the NFL, no one wants the NFL here.

"I heard they were fantastic! " Ah, the pride of Davis, CA. Thanks for the video.

They do excellent work. It's a good check on the home plate ump. Mike Krukow, the Giants announcer, goes on ad nauseum about the home plate ump's strike zone. It can be overdone at times though...

This is what getting hit by a Adrian Gonzalez line drive gets you -- pic of Jesse Crain's torso.

They asked LaBron tonight if he had change for a dollar, and LBJ said no, he only had three quarters on him. -

Maybe Wade & James can't coexist. It's like James is afraid to take the game over from Wade. I thought LBJ would go Godzilla on the Mavs while Wade was in the locker room - instead, nothing. -

And this was a game that LBJ needed to take over and make a major statement about himself as a player. Wade played through pain, but James disappeared completely in the fourth quarter. That flushing sound you hear is LBJ's rep going down the drain. -

The Jet took off at the end. LBJ: weakest triple double in playoff history. -

Great first half. If Wade goes down, LBJ better pick up his game pronto. -
Too bad, he was having a good year. I hate the Yankees, but I hate more seeing a player going down with a injury.

It helped that the Dodgers are now a AAA team. Did you check out Dee Gordon? he looks like he's thirteen years old, and at 150, a strong wind might put him out for the season. The Dodgers are clearly aiming for next year, when the younger players will have a year's experience, and hopefully mature into big league players. The Dodgers offense is truly abysmal right now, it reminds me of Seattle last year, if the other team scores three runs, the games over.

In all these album cover threads, I can't believe that no one has yet to post The Knack's My Sharona cover, I mean, how can you not remember that cover? it was all over my friends dorm rooms in college.

Three box sets: The Style Council: The Complete Adventures of The Style Council The Rubble Collection: Volumes 11-20 The Los Angeles Free Music Society: The Lowest Form Of Music (10 cds). Interesting story. I was holding this box this morning at Amoeba's, and one of the staff comes buy and we start talking, and it turns out that he is Rick Potts! who is a founding member of The Los Angeles Free Music Society, and we had a very nice talk. He was saying that there was a symposium on free music in London about three years ago, and they flew all the members of the LAFMS back there. He still can't believe it. Very nice guy, who I always see working when I go to Amoeba. Well, that's my interesting story for the day.

The two teams don't play again until August 12th. Hopefully, by then, heads will have cooled. Nonetheless, if I was leading off for the Marlins that night, I would expect the Giant's pitcher to buzz my tower. I love the Giants, they have a great spirit about them, but now they're just coming off as whiners.

Nice little three game winning streak by the Dodgers, taking the Rockies last night to move into third place, (and do the Rockies ever look bad right now, worst MLB record for May). Dodgers are still a mediocre team. Matt Kemp is great, carry the team for stretches. Andre Ethier is pretty good, but he has too much of that "too preppy-popping my collar--icing my brahs--I'm too sexy for my shirt--shout out to my frat bros from Duke--love me I'm great" vibe to be one of my favorites. Casey Blake is ok, as well as Robbie Furcal. Starting pitching is picking up; bullpen is shaky. There you have your 2011 Los Angeles Dodgers: two very good players, too decent players, two good starters, one decent one, and the rest are warm bodies. However, no one is going to run away with the division this year, so there's a chance the Blue might still be in the hunt come September... baseball is a funny game

Um. Vin Scully is the [hated] Dodgers announcer. WTF would he care if a Giants guy got injured? Right, because someone roots for another team, they rejoice in injuries.... Plus, we all know what a jerk Scully is... <_<
-
Vin Scully was discussing the Posey play today during the game, and he mentioned that according to one old time catcher, the mistake Posey made was going down on his knee. Scully said he was told once that happened, the player is very venerable to injury. Makes sense.
