  1. Thanks. I just pulled the trigger! I just pulled the trigger also. This board is EVIL
  2. Drew usually batted fifth in the lineup, behind Kent. I can't believe that Drew thought there was too much pressure in L.A., which is Cakewalk City in terms of the press. With Boston, I would imagine he would bat behind Manny to give him some protection. I just don't see Drew surviving the Boston press though, he's too use to hands-off teatment from his days in St. Louis, Atlanta, and L.A., none of which is noted for an agressive press.
  3. Oh Lord, it's already started, pay three dollars, make an eighty dollar profit
  4. Well, JD, don't let the door hit you in the ass when you leave! If there is a player whose stats give a false picture of real value, Drew is it. Mr. DL adds nothing to a team, no character, no intensity, nothing clutch. No way this guy is going to better with age, way too fragile. Mr. Invisible just wants to collect his paycheck and be left alone. Looser
  5. I'm there and will be pre-order the minute they go up. To coincide with the Genesis tour, EMI Records will be re-issuing 14 Genesis studio albums in three stages during 2007. All the releases will be SACD/DVD double disc sets featuring newly re-mastered 5.1 surround sound and stereo mixes. The release schedule is as follows: March 2007: A Trick Of The Tail (1976), Wind & Wuthering (1977), …And Then There Were Three…(1978), Duke (1980) Abacab (1981) June/July 2007: Genesis(1983), Invisible Touch(1986), We Can't Dance (1991), Calling All Stations(1997) Late 2007/Early 2008: Trespass (1970), Nursery Cryme (1971), Foxtrot (1972 ), Selling England By The Pound (1973), The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway(1974)
  6. You'd think "White Wedding" would be included also...
  7. And it was one of those K-2s that were a part of the Concord Sumer sale. Looks like they're getting off the K-2 train, and hopping aboard the RVG bandwagon now. Though how the RVG is going "improve" upon that K-2, I don't know. I wonder if we'll be seeing any K-24bit cds from Concord.
  8. Sonics split the weekend series with the Lakers. Odom is so much better when Kobe's not around, Lamar needs the ball to get his game going. Odom looked so good Friday night it was scary.
  9. It's dark, cold, and rainy, but I'm going to Jimmy's Pizza for a Meat Grinder Special. Hmmmm.... Dead animal......
  10. John Coltrane: Blue Train. It's the Classic Records HDAD format. I've heard good things about the sound quality and I thought I'd give it a try.
  11. Thanks to Deadspin.com, a great basketball spoof of course, and it's multi-part!
  12. Man, this is a painful thread! I thought I had this set bought from a person I knew, but he received a better offer. Now I'm trying to get a good deal via the ebay/Amazon route. We'll see how it pans out. I really, really, really, want this set.
  13. The Sonics did have a chance to take the Lakers last night, but bombed out at the end. Tarriff and Walton were playing like all-stars the last five minutes of the game for LA. Kobe looked ok, doesn't have his legs yet, had an open dunk, and got stuffed by the rim(!!).
  14. No surprise here, it was like Tommy Lasorda was the manager of the Twins -- ride you hot pitcher into the ground, then, too bad, your career is over. MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Twins standout left-hander Francisco Liriano has been scheduled for surgery on his ailing elbow that will most certainly keep him from pitching in 2007. Liriano will undergo Tommy John surgery Monday in California with Dr. Lewis Yocum performing and Twins physician Dr. John Steubs assisting, the team said Friday. The Tommy John procedure, which is a replacement of the ulnar collateral ligament, is named after the former Yankees pitcher. Recovery typically takes at least a year. Liriano had an outstanding rookie season, going 12-3 with a 2.16 ERA, but pitched only six innings over the final two months because of pain in his left elbow. With veteran Brad Radke expected to retire, it's a big blow to Minnesota's rotation for next year.
  15. Sonics vs. Lakers. Looking forward to the game tonight, even have Kobe on my fantasy team (not my favorite player, but points are points! andI was too late for the board's league), think the Sonics might be able to steal a w on this one.
  16. Well, before people start saying what an unfeeling ahole this guy was, what he did was a common. In churches there are a lot of hand written notes left on the altar, statues, beneath candles, etc. and the question is always how to dispose of them. You really don't want to read the letters because they do contain private material, and prayers to God. So you collect them, and most people shred them (I do) because people are writing/praying to God, not to the minister. It's a matter of respect. Now, throwing them in the ocean is not ideal, but I imagine the person thought they would sink and that would be the end of the story. Too bad it wasn't. Only a piece of crap would do this....
  17. I find it interesting to track the development of Coltrane; how someone who was "a terrible player" turned into one of the greatest musicians on the 20th centuary. Not the standard thing for a musician in any genre, is it?
  18. Last option. That's me also -- though I do love go to a B & M, and just look around and make an impulse buy.
  19. Watch the Sonic game and boy, did Brandon Roy look good! Sonic have serious troubles at center, though Wilcox scored 17 points in 23 minutes. Might be a long winter for the Sonics, and, they need to get a new arena deal with the city if they want to stay -- fat chance, people seem to be dead set against tax money going for that.
  20. Yeah, I know that feeling about 'Trane now....
  21. Two jazz cds that I think sound great, and are readily available: Red Holloway: Coast to Coast and Trio Beyond. Jack DeJohnette/Larry Goldings/John Scofield: Saudades.
  22. Crap! I was going to watch the games last night but wound up waiting for someone's plane, that was delayed, for nine hours. Is there anything worse than waiting around an airport all day?
  23. I would also add Bill Evans' Waltz With Debby SACD, I just love the sound on this cd . Sonny Rollins/Plus 4 SACD is very good also -- I think it's the only Clifford Brown on SACD. If you like rock The Flaming Lips: Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots is one of the most interesting sounding cds that I have. It's compressed all over the place, some of the sounds are way jacked up, but it all works to make a very unique soundscape.
