  1. Sorry, don't have that one yet.
  2. I think Quincy has a good question there. I've noticed alot of folks make multiple posts when listening to a Mosaic box, one post for each disc. That could kind of skew the results... Aggie is saying that the Republicans are running this vote.
  3. I've been struck lately of how different Bill Evans: The Paris Concerts are from Turn Out The Stars, and there's only a seven month difference between the recordings. In Paris, Evans had a very classical sound, and Johnson and La Barbera are very much in the background. TOTS has a much more, what I would describe as a harder edge to it. Interesting. Don't know if it means anything, but interesting none the less. Evans is a fascinating study.
  4. Oh, excuse me, didn't realize I was at the Steve Hoffman Forum.
  5. Ideally: Go to the Post Office and my Complete Bill Evans of Verve is waiting for me. Go home, figure out how to burn bit-torrents, all the while, I'm listening to Evans. Reality: No Evans. My Computer crashes. Stale left-overs.
  6. You have Flac Frontend? Then A. Open it. B. Click Add Files C. Choose all of the files from a concert (you can click on one Flac file at the top, hold the shift key and click on the bottom file and you will select all of them) D. click "Decode" When Flac Frontend is finished, you will have wav files in addition to Flac files. Any CD burning program will recognize wav files. Be sure to burn "Disc at Once" so that the applause doesn't have two second gaps in between tracks. If you have a concert that are "shn" files (you'll know this if Flac Frontend doesn't recognize the files): Open Winamp Click File ----> Add Media to Library Choose all of the concert files Make sure they end up in the correct track order (you can click and drag to move them) Put a blank CD in your drive and click "burn". Thanks Dan, I'll copy this and on Friday see if I can make magic happen. I have some Dylan & Bill Evans/Lee Kontiz to burn... Good luck, and sorry for the heavy handedness of my initial response. I guess you really don't know what you're doing. I told you I was hopeless, and also... Wonder who said that....

  8. I've been fooling around with the stuff you listed -- still no luck. Friday, when I have a free day, I'm going spend all day, I necessary, to figure this out.
  9. I'm very happy with firefox, and I'm seriously considering getting out of Office and also going that Linux route. The unknown is always scary though...
  10. That is crazy money for a player who doesn't add all that much to a team. Heaven help us, I wonder what JD will get if Pierre is worth 9 mil?
  11. Didn't even notice until now, and I been using 2.0 for a while.
  12. OK, I'm not a good speller, in fact, I'm super bad, but now I notice that when I misspell a word, it gets a red underline to let me know, as usual, I'm wrong. When did this start?
  13. Dino jr. is surprised you could hear anything after them.
  14. Yeah, put me down as very underwhelmed by this one, but the kids seemed to like it though. On the same level as "Green Day is really what punk is about." Most overrated album in my opinion is Dream Theater: Metropolis PT. 2: Scenes From A Memory. Was not impressed at all.
  15. Kind of interesting, the total silence from Bonds camp. Nomar resigned with the Dodgers for 18 million; think the Dodgers will regret that one when Nomar spend half of 2008 on the DL. The money that's being thrown around this winter is amazing.
  16. I always liked Thanksgiving to be nice and quiet, my traditional thing was to go to Jack-in-the-Box for a Monster Taco Meal, but this year, it looks like I'm going to be around people -- bah, humbug!
  17. Okay guys/gals be patient with me on this: I've downloaded bit-torrents from DAD, and for the past two days have been trying to get burn it to cd, I've tried all my programs, looked at faqs, no luck. Do I need a special program to get the torrents to cd? I know, I'm hopelss.
  18. The rust is what makes this set disctinctive! A rustfree box would be a first! How thick is the metal? Bulletproof? Guy No. Anything above a .22 should go through it.
  19. Wish I could afford a print of this, only $400 pounds.
  20. The rust is what makes this set disctinctive! A rustfree box would be a first! But I want it to be my rust.
  21. Well, checked how much I had left on my credit card, closed my eyes, prayed for courage, and bought this.... The Complete Bill Evans on Verve. Supposed to be "like new," the Amazon seller had 100% positive feedback. What the heck, you only live once. PS: this picture is not the copy I bought, my copy should not have rust on it -- I hope.
  22. ...Or ministers, or coaches, or counselors, or nice guy who loves kids whom you trust... Move away from the stereotype. The hell of it is the breach of trust. They could be anyone who has any interaction with kids, even an uncle, father or grandfather. That's why it's such a heinous crime. They walk among us and look just like anyone else. Religion has nothing to do with it. Really, how can you tell about anyone? I've known some priests who have been dismissed from the priesthood, and in each case (but one), I was very surprised.
  23. This set is the total package -- great music, outstanding mastering, very nice booklet by Bill Kirchner (love the pictures of Mulligan and his son). Into big-band music at all, you need to get this set. If it means anything, my set is #4867. Who does those funky 8's anyway???
  24. Same old story-- ageing veteran does great in his contract year, spends the next two years on the DL. Plus, Thomas on turf for half the season? Good luck. Toronto got taken to the cleaners. edit: early morning spelling problems.
