  1. Glenn Miller and His Orchestra by George T. Simon. I happen to enjoy this book tremendously, but, then, I love Glenn Miller.
  2. IMHO: Who in the heck would give Dykstra any of their money to invest? I love this sentence from the ESPN article: According to the bankruptcy petition, Dykstra's largest unsecured creditors include units of JPMorgan Chase & Co., owed $12.9 million, and Bank of America Corp, owed a combined $4.2 million. What The Heck! Lenny just walks into the bank, "Hey dudes, give me 13 million dollars!" "Sure Lenny, you're good for it!" Goodness gracious, exhibit A on how the banking industry got into such trouble.
  3. Who would have ever thought it? A series between Seattle and Texas starting tonight, and the games actually mean something? And it's an old fashioned four games series at that. Awesome.
  4. ...and imagine, one of those crappy opponets took 4 of 6 against Boston! The only thing better than kicking a Red Sox fan when they're down is kicking a Yankee fan when they're down.
  5. 2 of 3 from Boston is not too bad. I must admit, I like a number of the Red Sox players, they seem to approach the game in an "Old School" manner
  6. Wakefield getting chosen is more of a Lifetime Achievement honor. His first time, he's been around forever, and he'll love it. A good guy, who is getting a good reward. Bastita is coming in for Seattle, so Boston will go ahead this inning....
  7. Dang! police say four shots two the head, tow to the chest. Sounds like someone was pissed off....
  8. Wakefield getting chosen is more of a Lifetime Achievement honor. His first time, he's been around forever, and he'll love it. A good guy, who is getting a good reward. Bastita is coming in for Seattle, so Boston will go ahead this inning....
  9. Very strange top of the 9th managing by Francona, the bullpen must have been over worked or something to let Saito, who was pitching very poorly, stay in and lose that game for Boston.
  10. Thank you Francona for leaving Saito in the game, good decision!
  11. Bad planning when I have to leave before the game is over. I better come back to a ranting Dan, if you know what I mean...
  12. HA! Love you BoSox fan! Way to interfere with the play!
  13. I wish teams would just have one home uniform and one road uniform, I hate all these different looks in uni's.
  14. There is no way in heaven, earth, and under the earth, that this is going to work out. Artest can not ever control his desire to be the center of attention. The Lakers must feel that Odom is gone to make this move.
  15. I was in Baltimore the day after this game. Needless to say, all the people around me were still talking about it.
  16. I think a better question is: Who didn't you guys have salacious thoughts about?
  17. Let me be the first to point out that the Mariners took two of three against the Dodgers! Noj, eat your heart out!
  18. Re: Drew. I was watching his first ab today, and those stats flashed on the screen, who knows what they were for, I wasn't paying close attention so I thought they were season stats. My bad.
  19. Since when is it okay for J.D. Drew to have 25 home runs & 74 rbi's? or Wakefield to have 10 wins? When I say you're overrated stay overrated players! I don't like this development.... at all.....
  20. It'll be interesting to see this Rick Rubio guy play, sounds too good to be true....
  21. The Zen Master says the Lakers have green lighted him if he wants to only coach away games... What The Heck??? Edit: Oops! I mean home games!
  22. Hate to be a know-it-all here, but if the helmet is touching the body at the time of the tag, it is considered a part of the body, therefore the runner is out.
  23. One of my favorite Ed McMahon moments! We miss you big guy!
  24. I went to two tappings of The Tonight Show with Leno. It was nice, and he was nice, but my gosh, he is just a terrible interviewer, deadly boring. The band wasn't all that happening either. As Fasstrack says: "Different world now", and definitely a different entertainment world now.
  25. Really sad news, I would watch Johnny & Ed a lot during the 70's. The Tonight Show has never been the same since those two left.
