  1. Even though I have been following the Lakers ever since they came to Los Angeles and played in the Pan Pacific Auditorium..... anybody remember that..... I will always be a fan of the midwest (which included the Minneapolis Lakers) and especially the Detroit Pistons..... rememvber when they were the Fort Wayne Pistons??? B-) DETROIT ROCKS
  2. SS1 Sorry dude, I was out of town and did not see any games, but it does look good for Detroit now. 3-1 and all engines running hot
  3. ss1 NOT ONLY SEES THE LIGHT, he is trying to claim he always said Detroit had the best team........ (that is called jumping on the bandwagon) Now what have I been saying..... DETROIT ROCKS! B-)
  4. I agree Barkeley, though crude and foul mouthed, has extensive insight into the playoff makeup of teams. He never won a championship but, he knows why. He doesn't mind telling these teams how to win but they are not listening. You have to get past his crudeness and the information is there. B-)
  5. Anything is better than the LA CIRCUS, he will have no dignity left. Cleveland might be his best bet. They are young and coachable and have a superstar who is not selfish and has many years; they can add a couple more pieces to the puzzle and have a very very strong contender.
  6. WRONG!! Phil Jackson's playing career went through New York and they won championships in the duration. He has strong ties to the Knicks. (to answer your question, I don't know who started it) He would be a bigger fool to go BACK to the Lakers after they turned him down on an extension and resign. AND....... there is another factor..... and it is not Jeannie Buss......hope he does not subject himself to all the crud because of his affection for her; there are better coaching situations available to him. If he comes back to LA, wins a title, they will just can him again period. B-)
  7. Saw Miami destroy Nets but missed the rest, then went to LA to catch a Tyler Perry play at Kodak Theater. Anyone familiar with him?? "Meet The Browns" absolutelly hilarious! B-) peace NOJ - playoffs getting interesting.
  8. Dirk had a real bad day..... Mike Bibby had a REALLY bad day.... B-)
  9. B-) Hi Rachel, No harm, no foul. I just happen to love the playoffs. The intensity, the draining of the last drop of adrenaline, the last drop of strength in order to win, average guys rising above their capabilities, the creation of new stars, to obtain the pinnacle of success in the sport of basketball...... it is just great. Yeah,I know, the radio station was probably trying to get ratings... B-) Aw comon Noj, You guys got more excuses than a dog has fleas, Lakers not at full strength, don't make me laugh. Shaq, Kobe, Fisher, Walton, Peyton, Cook, Rush, George, and the foreign guy (Can't remember his name, PF and backup CTR). The one guy hurt that really important was the defensive Fox. I remember now, Slava Medvadenko. lol
  10. It was reported a day ago or so on Detroit radio (WDFN 1130) that Darko was replaced on the play-off roster by Darvin Ham. Oh yeah, then who was that big guy I saw on the court during the last minute and a half??? Darko's twin???? B-)
  11. No there is no mercy rule because everybody says the same thing about every game during the 1st round. It would appear to me that there is always something to look for in the early rounds besides the score. B-)
  12. But Miami isn't as bored as the Lakers were, and isn't totally dysfunctional because of personal issues. Also, shouldn't a federal judge issue an injunction banning 1st round series in the Eastern Conference until they can field more than 4 good teams? I think the Hornets-Heat series went to about 35 games last year before one of the coaches died and they had to forfeit. Guy I don't buy that crap about dysfunctional Lakers. Hell, they were 3 time champs 3 of the last 4 years at the time. They still had their nucleus of the best 2 players in the league. Dysfunction or not, they added two future hall of famers, Malone and Peyton. So dysfunction or not, they still should have been good enough to go 7 games before that ass kicking. Nobody wants to give Detroit any credit, so be it. When the Pistons kick ass again, everybody hit elbows and knees...... Detroit Rocks!! B-) Um, news flash: the Pistons didn't have to play the Lakers with Karl Malone. He was hurt. True story. So what..... Karl Malone was NOT there when they won those 3 championships.... and that still left them with a loaded team..... and the 2 best players According to Lakers news, they still had the best team......but..... Karl Malone is not your excuse...... You know what, a lot of Laker fans I know in OC did not like Phil Jackson and now they are PRAYING to get him back..... B-)
  13. Yeah, so are the Lakers now wouldn't that be something if the Bobcats made the playoffs and the Lakers didn't?? Careful SS1 your own words are making you look really bad!
  14. Yeah, but they did......

  16. Yeah, But they are a first year team with this roster....... Detroit is the defending champs.... Isn't that what you guys said about the Lakers UNTIL they were defeated... B-) lol
  17. BRAVO MR. BERGER You have obviously put some time into your thinkiing except for one thing.... DETROIT ROCKS and they are the DEFENDING CHAMPS Miami is really a very good team with Shaq, but Shaq is the only one with real playoff experience. Eddie Jones had some with the old Lakers but he was a non factor and still is. Pressure melts this guy, so that leaves Shaq and Wade. Wade has no real tough experience yet. Detroit has beaten Shaq before and know that they can do it again. The only thing that can beat Detroit is the fact that they have home court in the first two rounds only. Just not sure who will come out of the West. Have to see who is actually injured or not. No injuries, the Spurs will take West. DETROIT PREVAILS and I will stick with that until they lose. B-)
  18. The Spurs dethroned the Shaq/Kobe Lakers, in 2003. Guy Yes, the Spurs took that championship BUT the Lakers did not consider that anything but a bump in the road, expecially when they advanced to the finals in 2004. However, the Pistons DESTROYED the Lakers and that was what I was referring to. You are technically right but the instrument for the destruction of the Lakers was the Pistons. I think that is fair to say... B-)
  19. That was a shit ass question... You sequed from the NBA to Oscar; no wonder I didn't quite get the question before. Yeah, I like him.. Yeah, I met him, yeah he asked me to play once and what else doyou want to know..... I'm not mad, but that was a shit ass question on that NBA thread. B-)
  20. Hey comon Soulstation, Hang in there, Miami is a different team with Shaq. But now I think the Pistons are still going to the Finals. They were awsome until they went to sleep in the last quarter. B-)
  21. Well, well, well, Who got b***h slapped today??? B-)
  22. Nobody answered this question... The answer is..... Correctomundo! Kobe is a great shooting guard........ Got to admit though, he seems to be trying now that it is too late...... there seem to be more PASSES rather than... Oh I can't shoot so I will dish it quick.... B-)
  23. Touche` Cannot argue with that history. From Minneapolis to Los Angeles (Pan Pacific Auditorium, Sports Arena) until Detroit hit power in 89 I was an advid Laker fan, even when they couldn't win with Ray Felix at center. However, I always maintained my loyalty to Detroit even after Dave Bing was lost with the eye injury. So there it is.... Now you know..... I love both teams even though I seem to always speak out against the Lakers. I became vocal about the Lakers when they got Kobe. I could see from the beginning that he was a great player but also that he was a spoiled brat and trouble on the way. B-)
  24. at risk of looking stupid, what is JOS?
  25. Well Noj, I understand where y9ou are coming from.... However, remember this always, it was the Pistons who dethroned the Showtime Lakers and it was the Pistons who dethroned the Shaq,Kobe Lakers. So that in itself is a feat that no other team has done to another. So keep your dynasties but always remember who dethroned them. On the Clips, I agree with you. Have a good one, the Lakers lost tonight.... again..... B-)
