  1. The "Business Meetin'" sides w/Gerald Wilson
  2. So Bruce Soord is now in the remix/remaster biz, like his friend Steven Wilson?
  3. That was my understanding, too. But I thought it was possible they made some headway with digital remastering. I'll pass on this.
  4. Has anyone heard the 2011 Esoteric Recordings remaster of this? One reason I've always had trouble with it is the poor quality of the recording. Is it significantly better? Here's their description: +++ The Tony Williams Lifetime: Emergency! CD RE-PRESS: CD ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 2011 REMASTERED UK CD EDITION OF THE CLASSIC DEBUT ALBUM BY TONY WILLIAMS’ LIFETIME – FEATURING JOHN McLAUGHLIN and LARRY YOUNG BOOKLET WITH FULLY RESTORED ARTWORK & NEW ESSAY Esoteric Recordings are pleased to release the first album by the legendary jazz / rock / fusion outfit Tony Williams’ Lifetime. The group was founded by former Miles Davis drummer Tony Williams in 1969 out of his desire to fuse the influences of modern jazz and rock music. Recruiting legendary British guitarist John McLaughlin and organist Larry Young, Williams recorded the album “Emergency!”. It was a stunning and seminal work that divided critics in both jazz and rock but is now rightly regarded as being a groundbreaking work. This Esoteric Recordings edition is remastered and features the original album artwork and an informative essay.
  5. BTW, if you're still looking for Merch, you can order it here: Abbey Road - Official Store 😎
  6. I was there about 4 years ago, and they absolutely had a gift shop. They have a special entrance on the side of the building for the store.
  7. Tonight I saw an astounding 'outside jazz' performance by the “Being & Becoming” trio of Peter Evans, Tyshawn Sorey & Nick Jozwiak. A rare West Coast tour.
  8. Excellent album -Recorded live @ The Baked Potato, September 13 & 14, 2013
  9. I really liked his vocals with both Auger and Santana. He brought a lot of passion to their music. RIP, Alex
  10. Looking forward to next Sunday in SF: "Being & Becoming" with Peter Evans/Nick Jozwiak/Tyshawn Sorey + Heavy Arts Ensemble
  11. Saw that on FB, and several of his recent posts about dealing with his cancer. I only knew him through social media, but never in person. Always seemed like a great guy and obviously a great musician. RIP, the great Paul "FREE" McKee!
  12. I still have an OG German ECM. It's a shame he didn't keep that group together longer. They were unique.
  13. A British group that never broke through, but they had a lot of energy and some pretty decent songs. This is probably their best.
  14. Cannonball was really cooking in the 60s-70s. I don't understand why there haven't been any meaningful retrospective box sets or compilations of his work from this period.
  15. Great album! Now playing:
