A bit warmer this morning. Slept in. . . a lot of fresh air with like minds yesterday had me worn out enough. Re-listening to this excellent album to start the day. I love the way it is recoded and the playing is very entertaining.

Arturo O’Farrill “Live in Brooklyn” I love this disc! Just a TRIP.

Not sure how to describe this other than it’s James’ music. Funky, rock, jazzy, hip. .. I like it. Jose James “New York 2020” disc 2

Les McCann “Never a Dull Moment– Live from Coast to Coast (1966-1967)” Resonance Records 3 cd set, disc 1 These sets of trio recordings are a very rewarding listen, for me. Nicely recorded and mastered–not pristine studio recordings, but nicely rendered live recordings.

This amazing first disc, the first appearance of the great Miles Davis Quintet with George Coleman at the Antibes Jazz Festival in 1963. Miles in France – Miles Davis Quintet 1963/64: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 8, Disc 1 This box set is excellent. . . and this may be my favorite disc.

A 42 degree morning! Loving it! Saw nine deer crossing the road near the lights on our dogwood tree and slipping into the forest across the street. Amazing sight! I found a cheap copy of the 2 cd version of this one that arrived yesterday and I am really enjoying the second disc. Excellent recording and great playing. Wish it were longer! Orrin Evans “Faith in Action” Posi-Tone cd Wow, I like this one, and Evans’ work in general, the more I spin. He has a sort of nouveau Monk atmosphere at work. . . he has a vision and a solid style of execution. Powerful music! 300×271 9.86 KB
