  1. I looked for this one for some time before the material was put out by Mosaic.
  2. Good one! Now, Sharkey is probably not considered a jazz "great" but . . . his Capitol lp covers ARE! Can't yet find an image though, so here's a Roulette (nice lp.)
  3. Oh the Horror! The Walrus was PAUL!
  4. Here's what I was looking for when I found the Lee:
  5. Wow, found this HOT picture of Peggy Lee! OOPS focus Lon, ALBUM COVERS.
  6. It's almost his birthday!
  7. I've always liked this one:
  8. This is the "RVG living-room version" of the first Cannonball Savoy lp. . . the latest Japanese cd version I know of has this cover now:
  9. Otherwise, all I have to say is Klactovadesteen
  10. Yeah, I've had several versions of that session. . . This is the most complete one, and it has Abstractions: Still in print from OJC.
  11. There was a Jubilee lp with split leadership "Eddie Costa/Vinnie Burke Trio" ---been out on cd from Fresh Sounds. Wish there were a lot more.
  12. Not lp, but the "Teo Macero Japanese" cd version of the Complete Plugged Nickel cd set, released in Japan several years before the Cuscuna produced American version. . . . Never saw or heard it and wish I had!
  13. Another Miles rare cover:
  14. This is the original Japanese cover, that is so very different from the American cd cover!
  15. Maybe not so obscure to the old timers like me, but an alternate cove not normally seen. . . .
  16. I'd have to agree that I would act as Jim has suggested. I'd rather have no discs and bang on rocks and whistle and hum and howl the music out of my head. . . when not silently just playing back what I have in memory.
  17. Apparently that tatoo is no longer there, according to an interview with Baba Wawa.
  18. Roger, that's a good call, a nice idea. . . and with Selects you GET original cover art!
  19. "I am three. . ." had me howling Jim!
  20. Yeah. Latin. . . I had to learn latin really quickly when I arrived at boarding school in Swaziland and was two years behind all the others. When the teacher was the headmaster, there was no escape. I was reading Cicero in record time!
  21. Ella Mae Morse and Johnny Mercer
