  1. Amanda Brecker “Blossom” A cd by the daughter of Randy Brecker and Eliane Elias. I picked it because it was the cheapest I could find and wanted to check her out. A very singer songwriter pop vibe. I think I would like her Brazilian music album better. 500×500 22 KB
  2. That means that the analog tape was transferred to digital, and then that tape was used to master the LP. Which means it is not an all analog LP which is what many buyers want and is not going to sound the same as an all analog LP.
  3. Impex Records is a well-known and respected audiophile label. Their gold cd of "Ellington Indigos" is one of my very favorite discs. They have also done an INCREDIBLE SOUNDING SACD of "Getz/Gilberto." Their LP releases get great praise, I haven't bought any as I'm not buying recent reissue LPs.
  4. I haven’t spun this one in a while and it is a good one. Ku-Umba Frank Lacy with Mingus Big Band “Mingus Sings” Sunnyside cd
  5. Dan he clearly says it was mastered from digital files! Doesn't bother me--I'm not buying the LPs but his "there's digital and then there's digital" phrase is. . . wonky. I think he is trying to stress there is limited digital editing, but he should have tried again.
  6. A third rainy day seems ahead. Memphis not happy about it. Lots of falling leaves. Starting off with Dave Brubeck “Jackpot” Sony cd. Not essential perhaps due to a less than stellar piano and instrumental balance that could have beeb better, but tunes not usually played.
  7. On to Miles Davis Quintet “Live In Europe 1967 (The Bootleg Series Vol. 1)” Sony Blu-Spec CD box set, cd 3 This is not my favorite year of live Miles, but still some great music.
  8. Cold and wet, not yet raining but expecting rain all day. Re-listening to this to start off the day–it is SO good! Dave Holland Big Band “What Goes Around” ECM cd
  9. Dave Holland Big Band “What Goes Around” ECM cd
  10. Miles Davis" The Complete Bitches Brew Sessions" disc 1 I’m listening to this with Phase reversed on my DAC as on another forum it was discussed that this sounded better this way. It does sound quite good. As it does without the phase reversed. . . .
  11. David McMurray “Grateful Deadication” Blue Note cd Much of it is also reggae-fied. Took me a few listens but I do like it.
  12. I’d forgotten how good that O’Brien cd is. I know Hod is a good bud of Danny D’Imperio who has sung his praises to me. On further out to Alice Coltrane “Journey In Satchidananda” SHM-SACD Impulse Japan 600×593 75.8 KB
  13. Cold again but clear and still. Wanted to start the day with some Pepper Adams. Hod O’Brien “Opalessence” Criss Cross cd Hod O’Brien with Tom Harrell on trumpet and Pepper Adams on baritone – plus Ray Drummond on bass and Kenny Washington on drums
  14. A warm 50 degree soggy morning. Started with a re-listen to Jerry Garcia “Live at the Warfield” six cd box set, disc 2 300×300 41.8 KB Then on to Aubrey Johnson/Helen Sung/Dave Douglas “Lives Of The Saints – Portraits In Song With Words By David Hajdu” Sunnyside cd
  15. Charles Lloyd “Figure in Blue” Blue note 2 cd set, disc 2 Followed by Jerry Garcia “Live at the Warfield” six cd box set, disc 2
  16. Carmen McRae “You’re Lookin’ at Me (A Collection of Nat King Cole Songs)” Concord cd This is a good one, it has John Collins, a guitarist I always like to hear, who was in the Nat King Cole trio/band for a while.
  17. Well yeah, that is what I watched. . . I think technically Sunday starts a new week. Great co star!
  18. Yes, I know. But too expensively priced for me right now considering I have a lot of the music within already.
  19. Last week's Elsbeth.
  20. A warm, windy morning. Slept in and Memphis wanted to sleep in as well. Started off with a box set I finally found at a decent price that I have wanted, disc 1 of 2, Clarke-Boland Big Band “Blowin’ the Cobwebs Out” I’ve had most of this music on LP and cd for decades, but I always wanted this compilation and am glad to have it now. Sounds great here as well. This band was truly outstanding–dynamic, vivid, chockful of great soloists and exciting arrangements. One day I’ll find a decently priced copy of the other Emanonn box set of this band, “Historically Speaking”. . . .
  21. Decided to replay “Brilliant” Argo release from this 2 LP cd as I didn’t get to fully absorb it this morning. Was a great event this afternoon in Mentor. Love Don Goldie’s sound! 200×200 57.2 KB IMG416×415 36.9 KB
  22. A little warmer, but wetter this morning. Hope the rain clears for important events today. Decided to play this great Don Goldie cd to start off the day. Don Goldie" Trumpet Caliente - Brilliant – Quintet Sextet" Fresh Sound cd. Those are both great sessions. 250×249 17.1 KB
  23. Grateful Dead “Blues for Allah Angel Share” 525×500 87.2 KB
  24. Cold today, again. The dog is snoring in time to the music next to me on the listening chair–there is just enough room for us both. Starting with Carmen Staaf “Sounding Line” Sunnyside cd. Five pieces by Monk, five by Mary Lou Williams, and two originals.
