i've gained weight in the last 18 months despite smoking a pack a day. and let me tell you ... it sucks too!

the thing about ballack is this: he is not only important as a central midfielder but also as a goal scorer. in fact, in his caps for the national team he has a game/goal ratio as good as many full-time strikers. so far ballack has made about 85 games for the national team and scored about 40 goals. and, he is not the kind of player who makes the useless 4:0 or 5:0, he is the kind of goal scorer who makes the important 1:0 or 2:1.

i've just heard on the german radio that michael ballack might not be able to play the final on sunday. he seems to have problems with his right calf muscle. he missed the team training today and nobody knows if he will be able to play the game on sunday.

for me it would be "... with strings". yes, i know it's blasphemy to say this ... but still ...

well, not me. i had expected to see italy, the netherlands and croatia on this list ... but, i have to say ... great tournament so far, many surprises and much drama!

wow! now that's a real surprise! russia in half-final, the netherlands are out ... i really didn't expect that outcome ... then again the netherlands already have a history of playin' attractive football and in the end winnin' only the "golden ananas" ... maybe there really is somethin' like the risk of peakin' too early in the tournament?

well, i think you could easily see that a lot of players were gettin' really tired, especially some players from the german team like podolski ... no energy left in the battery. but ... omg ... the last 20 minutes or so ... pure thriller !

just a small correction: cordoba, the legendary historic win of the austrians, was in 1978 ... the game was part of the fifa wc 1978 in argentina. even the english wikipedia has an article about this game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_of_cordoba that wikipedia entry obviously has been written by someone from austria (not by someone from germany) ... only austrians like to talk about the "miracle of cordoba" ... germans usually call it the "disgrace of cordoba" oh lord, please don't let that happen again today!

Do you think the Austrians might win? well, not really ... but if they do the austrians won't stop makin' jokes about it for the next 50 years i guess you don't know this ... but regarding football there is a special relationship between austria and germany ... kickin' the great german brother out of the tournament would be even more fun to the austrians than winnin' the whole tournament :rsmile:

yes, the most important thing is a good hairdo! the game i'm really looking forward to is the netherlands vs. romania ... as we have already discussed the dutch team seems to peak quite early .... maybe some of the better players from the dutch team need a little break uh oh ... and don't get me started on the game austria vs germany .... that one really scares the shit out of me
