  1. Would really like to get a hold of this one.
  2. His "Fables" album from 2010 is also a great one.
  3. I had some of the same with my tube amp. Cleaned tube pins and sockets with Deoxit and then the crackling disappeared.
  4. I like those Le Chant Du Monde releases. Compiled by people who know their stuff and presented in a quality package. That Dakota compilation seems like one to check out, have not heard much of her music before.

    Doc Pomus

I read the biography on him last year and there seems to have been a lot of people that loved him as a friend and musical partner, among them Lou Reed and Dr.John in later years. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/25/books/review/Light.t.html?_r=1 He contributed a lot of great songs to the pop and rock music business from the 40's to the late 80's. This is a fine compilation of his own recordings: Blues in the Red (Rev-Ola)
  6. More and more is becoming available. For really early stuff, check out the Secret Museum of Mankind series on Shanachie. There were some really good traditional music field recordings in the original Nonesuch Explorer Series. The Yazoo "Mankind" series are great, got them all. Some of these are even available on vinyl now: http://www.honestjons.com/shop.php?pid=34041
  7. Love The Band's music, and Levon's own albums. RIP to a great artist.
  8. Don't know about this, but "My Jug and I" has just been reissued on vinyl by 4 Men With Beards: I just got it, great album.
  9. Beautiful spring weather here up north and warmer than usual. Will have a walk with my girlfriend tomorrow after she has come back from work.
  10. Mose Allison - V8 Ford Blues (Columbia Records)
  11. Gerry Mulligan - Song Book, Vol.1 (World Pacific Records)
  12. Jimmy Yancey - The Immortal Vol.2 (Oldie Blues) Recordings from 1940-1943.
  13. Agree with the article that Google might lose some users over this integration of it's own apps before others, but the ever-present Facebook could need some competition and I suppose Google aims for that. I disagree that Bing should be better as this owned by Microsoft which started that whole shebang with integrating everything with their own systems. Better use something like ask.com or similar.
  14. Great news that more Mingus will be released! Voted for the physical product at the web site(no fbook for me either) and hoping for a Mosaic release. As I love vinyl the most, a release in that format would be great as well.
  15. John Coltrane - Plays The Blues (Rhino Records reissue)
  16. and kalaparusha maurice mcintyre. Never heard of him, but read some on his story now. Interesting musician and story, thanks.
  17. That vanishing act for 30 years is quite a parallel one to Henry Grimes' story?
  18. The very fine liner notes to the Stompin' at the Penny album is here: http://weeniecampbell.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=8401.0
  19. Sun Ra - Astro Black
  20. I can't for the life of me figure out how to make a purchase enquiry. There is an email address scrolling by at the bottom of the page: horo@aldosinesio.com
  21. Very nice! Please post a link to the interview when it's ready.
  22. Is that a David Stone Martin cover? From Dusty Groove: The whole thing's packaged in a very otherwordly image by David Stone Martin – one unlike any other cover he ever did
