Looks like this will put a real hurt on Sundazed which has done many LP reissues of Columbia/Sony material.

Probably more obscure than it should be.

The piano trio thread turned up some interesting choices. How about "obscure" (or at least fairly obscure) horn trios? Anyone can choose trio records by Sonny, Ornette, Cecil, Air, etc. if they choose to, but I assume that most already know about those. I'll start with a few: Roy Campbell Pyramid: Communion Don Ellis: Out of Nowhere - I like this one better than How Time Passes. Louis Cottrell Trio: Bourbon Street

Not sure if these have been mentioned - some images have been deleted in previous posts: Billy Bean, Hal Gaylor, Walter Norris: The Trio Frank Hewett: We Loved You Barry Harris Trio: Chasin' the Bird Barry Harris isn't an obscure name, especially here. but I'm sure that this hasn't sold many copies over the years, and it's a very good one.

I'm not usually a fan of Document, but this one collects the blues of three fairly obscure performers in decent sound, so I'll keep it and play it

Steve - I would have expected that you would have thought of the film immediately, since Buddy Holly wrote "That'll Be the Day" after seeing it.

When I saw the thread title, this was my first thought. Never occurred to me that it would be about the Brit group..

I have to give a tip of the cap to our own Mr. Kart for recommending this one. It sounds better to me each time I listen to it.

Fine music deserves listens and re-listens.
