  1. Also came late to this thread, and want to thank Jim for his heads up on Showboat. put it on this morning and realise that I have never really HEARD it, probably because I got lost in the other Time albums when I bought up the recent Japanese reissues, maybe because of the horrendous cover, I dunno, but is great, realy like Jimmy Heath on this one, now I`m all over Jazz Contempory again, but, damn, that Showboat was a surprise!
  2. Spotted Dick is a sexually transmitted disease...
  3. Difficult but I suppose I must, when Push comes to shove, say the second quintet, followed by Nickel, and 7 steps. They are all wonderful of course (only have the Prestige as individual albums, but I seem to play them more and more frquently as I get older, and Bitches doesnt leave the shelf as often as it did...) Really looking forward however to the Celler Door not to mention the Antibes material!!
  4. I´m already broke!
  5. Me too! But I still hope you can all get your fix!
  6. by the by Spin also offer the remastered Blows against the Empire by Jefferson Zimmerframe including some demos and a live Starship from the Fillmore.
  7. Spin: http://www.spincds.com/ Good luck!
  8. Jazzbo, yes they solicit preorders for the 3 cd set, but also the Real Thing! Tho last time I spoke to them they had not received confirmation of how many sets they would be allocated, Spin is not your run of the mill retailer, they also sell all the Live tour cds which various bands Phish, String Cheese, Allmans et al release as well as all the Rhino handmades Dicks picks etc, really they are worth a mail..What have you got to loose?
  9. Try Spin records out of Newcastle England , maybe you can preorder there? I know they have solicited advance orders for the Fillmore set.....
  10. Not Jazz (or?) but I would sure like to see Tim Buckleys Starsailor, not to mention Blue Afternoon.
  11. Sam Rivers, and I have not culled my collection.
  12. Mustapha. As in Mustaphanother Mosaic..
  13. Looks just what the doctor ordered!
  14. Jerry Hahn Brotherhood on Columbia.
  15. Ummm, so should I buy this set? (Only Kidding!)
  16. Thanks for the clarification Robert.
  17. I am still confused, much of this stuff has already been released previously this year! But the BVCJ are now at a higher price, the ones I bought from Hiroshi a month ago were 1500 yen.... The VICJ program has been continuing all year, but now they rerelease many of them, some with new numbers (?) together with the next raft of issues...
  18. Juat got my first Bear Family catalogue and enjoyed a WTF ..k moment- here is a paralell universe I didnt know existed, enough for another lifetime ( not to mention the need to have access to somebody elses bank account!)
  19. I am with Brownie, I miss him and his jive.
  20. The recent Kogun reissue is 1500 yen, dont think that is too expensive, at least not from a Swedish perspective!
  21. This could get expensive! I very much like the albums with Lew, I have Long Yellow Road, Kogun,March of the Tadpoles. From Toshiko with Love. Farewell.Tales of a Courtisan. Salted Ginco Nuts.European memories and Insights-and I would not like to have to choose between them! Together they seem to me to be very much a single body of work, and if you like one of them....These albums were all reissued recently in Japan, and Kogun has recently appeared again, try Hiroshi!
  22. Condolences from this side of the pond. Lost my mum just over a year ago, and then immediatly my partner was diagnosed with breast cancer so I know a bit what you are going through, and yeah I know words are just words, but keep on keepin on...
  23. personally, I am very happy that these Savoys are about to be releasesd. Having come late to Jazz (ie after the Denon program) I think this is one label that cries out for a decent reissue program. all I can find have been a bewildering series of repackagings with crummy cover art. A few years ago I did manage to get a very few albums released through Atlantic, but could never even find a complete list of these releases.Hope this is only the first raft.
