Alec replied to Rooster_Ties's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Too late! I panicked and bought it today. I've wanted this set and this was a good enough excuse for me. -
November 16th W. C. Handy Eddie Condon not too bad

I have to add my kudos for this cd, too. I bought it because of the recommendations of this thread and I'm glad I did. I've always been a fan of Eliane Elias's work from her time in Steps Ahead, but I think she reaches a new level here. Lovano, who usally runs hot and cold for me, is solid here as are the rest. This is one of my favorites of the year.

Although I don't consider it a martini unless it is made with gin, I try not to be dogmatic about it. I like mine dry using Bombay Sapphire® My garnish of choice is a lemon peel, first rubbed along the rim, then twisted to release its oils before being dropped into the glass. And I like to shake mine.

Brain May Still Be Evolving, Studies Hint
Alec replied to 7/4's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
How can it still be evolving if there is no evolution? I think they mean it is still being intelligently designed. -
I have a Dell with itunes and have downloaded and burned the Verve OOPs with no problems, so I have to disagree with your uncle.

How about 300 of us chip in $1,000 apiece? I've always wanted to own a jazz club! Actually a plan like this could work!

A great not mentioned: Stanislaw Lem makes me wish I could read Polish.

I almost set for my China trip, I just need to load up my mp3 player. If I went with a theme I could include: Chico Hamilton -Far East Polo, Danny And His Swing Stars - China Boy Garland Wilson - China Boy Cal Tjader - China Nights (Shina No Yoru) Benny Goodman & His Orchestra - On a Slow Boat to China Freddie Hubbard - Asiatic Raes Or, just copy a Mosaic set (or two) and listen straight through. I have some favorites set, but am looking for suggestions from my far more knowledgable board mates! What would you pick?
-
Thanks for all the great suggestions, etc. My hospital has a great travel clinic, and they will give me stuff for gastro-intestinal problems as well as some antibiotics. Now I just have to decide what music I will load on my tablet pc.
