  1. I think the song she is looking for is the Livingston Taylor song I WILL BE IN LOVE WITH YOU Livingston Taylor ©Morgan Creek Music/Solid Smash Music (ASCAP) - All Rights Reserved I don't know what words to say But when I see you I know they'll come They'll be words that finally say How much I've needed someone Just one look and then I'll hear those sweet words pour on in, I will be in love with you, I'll be in love with you. I don't know how lonesome I have been I live that way day to day, But I long to ask myself How did I ever live that way? Just one smile from you, A million others will not do. I will be in love with you, I'll be in love with you. I don't know how to be soft I've become hard just to survive But I long to become gentle Gentleness brings love alive. Take these two strong hands Soften them darling understand I will be in love with you, I'll be in love with you. I will be in love with you, I'll be in love with you.
  2. Well I tracked down a track list. Any comments? Description 5-CD set. In December 1945 Charlie Parker took a sextet to LA at the request of club owner billy Berg. If any event can be sasid to mark the start of the West Coast sound, this is it. The collection charts Shorty Rogers' speedy evolution from promising newcomer to established elder statesman, and at the same time, represents an important part of the history of the West Coast sound. 3. Greenberg explains the history of the "rule" in his story. Guess you didn't read all of it. FWIW, back in the early '70s while attending the Univ of WI, Peter was the "campus rep" for A&M Records. A couple of years back I emailed him to say my A&M tee had developed holes and I needed another. He didn't respond. Guess what Chuck? You guessed wrong!
  4. Anyone have more information about this JSP set? Shorty Rogers: West Coast Trumpet Ace, Bandleader, Composer Vol. 1 1946-1954 - Import CD
  5. Too bad that rule 240 is just a myth. 240 myth explained
  6. iTunes has one volume as one of the Verve Vault OOP downloads. It contains: It Don't Mean a Thing (If it Ain't Got That Swing) The Varsity Drag Give Me the Simple Life I'll Remember April Oh Jane Snavley
  7. David-- Thanks for your reply. I got confused because on the Mosaic website they omit the "Live" in the title. So I mistakenly thought there were two Shearing sets-Live and studio. I have the discography for the live. BTW, hope your wrists feel better!
  8. does anyone have (or know where I can find) the discography for: #157 The Complete Capitol Recordings Of George Shearing Thanks!
  9. Mine came Friday---Thanks!
  10. I'll take the two Eddie Higgins! PM on its way
  11. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have an extra booklet? I have the music and the box, but Mosaic is all out of the booklet. Thanks, Alec
  12. Ahhh, everything is a circle!
  13. not sure of the veracity of this info, but here it is anyway:
  14. 51 sets, with 3 recently added because of the sale.
  15. I always thought we should have a thread that has scans of the original covers for each of the mosaic sets Anybody want to start?
  16. Couldn't help but brag that I finally got this htf set via ebay for $103.16 which I think is a great price for this set. I've been noticing that many sets (Shorty Rogers, Lewis/Jones) seem to be going for lower than average prices.
  17. My wife and I are looking for a new bed. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone have a tempur-pedic bed? My wife has been having back problems and she thinks a better bed might help. As for me, I can sleep on almost anything. (I still miss my really hard futon!) Thanks
  18. For that price I'll take the HRS Sessions! PM sent
  19. You might get more help if you moved this to the Offered/Looking for thread.
  20. It looks like such a great set! The perfect boxed set!
  21. Congratulations to felser claimant of (Ellington dvd) and Ken Dryden (Joe Pass)!!
  22. --GONE-- Free!! I was in China and bought these two dvds. If you want 'em, you got 'em. They are not in clamshells, but come flat. Probably pirated copies, but they don't look it. One to a customer please. These dvds play in US players, but I'm not sure about others. First pm gets 'em. A small bit of thanks for everyone here on the board! The Genius of Joe Pass Few guitarists in the jazz idiom have reached the level of virtuosity that Joe Pass established and refined throughout his career. His playing in group settings was flawless, but his true genius was revealed as a solo guitarist who could simultaneously play all elements of a jazz or blues tune - melody, rhythm, chord harmonies, bass lines and rapid-fire improvised passages - all with an impeccable sense of taste and style that wowed critics and listeners around the world. This video offers excerpts from various performances from 1962-1982 that capture the essence, brilliant technique and enormous talent of Joe Pass. In a brief interview segment, Joe discusses his guitaristic roots and his thoughts on his music. Joe Pass has inspired legions of players, yet he remains unsurpassed as the most genial jazz guitarist of our time. Running time: 115 minutes. Memories of Duke This musical tour takes you to the 1968 tour of Mexico. Some of the tunes by the immortal Duke Ellington are "Take the "A" Train," "Satin Doll," "I Got it Bad and That Ain't Good," and "Sophisticated Lady." ~ All Movie Guide
  23. Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino?
  24. I never seem to run out of stupidity!
  25. I have to admit I have a fondness for that kind of cheese. I bought all the Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass reissues (and love them) as well as the Baja Marimba Band. Therefore I'll have to check these out. Thanks everyone.
