  4. Regarding the 10% off coupon code, the response from Towers is as follow. It seems good news to us! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your email. Please try to place the order online again with the coupon code. If it doesn't work, place the order without the coupon code and email us with it along with the order number to receive a 10% off credit for the discount. We are aware of a recent technical error with some coupons and have resolved a fix. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  8. Hello ds0823! Glad to see you here! I don't know the "Babe Thread", either.
  9. I know "one night with Blue Note" 4 CDs were released long time ago. Will they be issued later on? Or I just buy used ones on eBay or Amazon makret place? Thanks!
  10. I always said it should have been an RVG, instead of a Conn. Maybe they're finally listening to me!! I couldn't get your point. What's the difference for "Fuschia Swing Song" to be released as RVG or Conn.? Thanks!
  11. FSS (TOCJ 4184) was released in 95' in JP and is still available.
  12. 1. I had lived in Philadelphia for around 2 years. 2. I am a die-hard hardbop lover so I've commented some hardbop-related albums. It is a coincidence that many players, such as Benny Golson, Lee Morgan, Ted Curson and Bill Barron....etc are from the brotherly love city. Maybe it could be said that Philadelphia has been one of jazz players' cradles in the east coast for a long time. How would you think?
  13. Yep, I think all the site in Taiwan use "Big-5" Code.
  14. According the info. from "Goldmine's Price Guide To Collectible Jazz Albums 1949-1969", the cover art of "Buddy Defranco - Mr. Clarinet" was designed by David Stone Martin. Is that true? I think it's not David Stone Martin's style. Could anyone else show me the original cover art while the LP issued initially? Thanks!
  15. Hi, David Ayers, Welcome to join MP Jazz Forum. I think the moderator, Thomas Wu, and all MP members would be glad to see you sharing your thoughts about Jazz with us.
  16. Regarding the sound quality you've asked, my friend told me that CD issued by Toshiba EMI is better than one by Avenue Jazz. Also, Toshiba EMI released some Bethlehem CDs in Dec. 2003. Please refer to the hyperlink below. http://www.toshiba-emi.co.jp/jazz/release/index_j200312.htm
  17. From Philly's website: "¥xÆWªº¿Õ©Ôã´µCD½æ¤T¦Ê¦h¡]¥ý«eÁÙ¦³¤¤»ùù¡I¡^ DVDn½æ¨ì¡u¯S»ù¡G688¤¸¡v¡H¡H¡H¡H¡H ¡]³Õ«È¨Ó»ù¡^ Ãø¹D¸òÃöµ|¦³Ãö¡H ÁÙ¬O¤ÏÀ³DVD¤@¯ë¦æ±¡¡H" ...using good ole' Babelfish, translating Chinese to English, it comes out: "? X? W? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? CD? ? ¤T? ? ? H? ] ? ? E? ? ? ? ¤¤? ù? ù? I? ^ DVD? N? ? ¨ì? U? S? ù? G688¤? ? V? H? H? H? H? H? ] ? ? ? ¨? ? ù? ^? ? ? D? ò? ? ? |? ? ? ? ? H? ? ? O¤? ? ? DVD¤@? ? ? ? ±? ? H" Makes alot better sense to me Let me translate in English. ==================================================== Norah Jones' CD, "Come Away With Me" sold in TW is around NTD350. However, her DVD, "Live In New Orleans" sold in TW is NTD688. One member asked the reason why the retail price of her DVD was so expensive. He thought maybe the tariff would explain. ==================================================== In my point of view, I think NT500 would be the reasonable price for her DVD.
  18. Thanks! chris olivarez. Your icon shown is cool .

  20. Yep, what we've discussed on MP Jazz Forum includes everything abount Jazz, such as new release, re-issue, cover art, jazz-related OST, and comments....etc. Therefore, the site and MP Jazz Forum are doing the similiar things except the language. I will try to ask more and then learn more from you guys. Thanks!
  21. The picture drawed by Bill Barron is shown on the cover of "HIGH GROUND".
  22. Hi, JSngry, "Philly Jazz Bar" is a fan site actually. I usually write (comment) something after listening to an album. I am curious that how do you guys know MP Jazz Forum based in Taiwan? Anyway, glad to join this site and know you.
  23. Hello, Folks, It's Philly from Taiwan and the site owner of Philly Jazz Bar (http://mypaper.pchome.com.tw/news/bluenote27/). I am glad to join this forum and say hello to all of you. Yep! We just got Buddy Defranco's 5 lp-sleeved CDs w/Sonny Clark and the music is terrific!
