Here is the up-to-date list of the nine album cover pictures I'm still looking for. If you happen to spot any or know where I could get them, please let me know. (list moved to later post)

Yet another cover picture has become available. Not at all sure of the jazz content on this album but will perhaps find out soon. Thanks for expert processing once again to Couw.
  3. That's only four days - pretty good going. Looking forward to your imminent comments!
  4. Try an enema
  5. You can post that list when we fail to identify any of those baritonists ..... Think positive
  6. You're only joking I know, Mike, but I just made a list of twenty primary instrument baritone players from memory without breaking sweat, and all of them quite prominent too! And I can think of more now.
  7. The starting gun is hereby fired!
  8. Okay then, that's almost half have been confirmed as received already and most of the others can't be far behind. So why not get started today, right on schedule?
  9. Not too late - will be in the mail today. Now up to fourteen.
  10. PM received and replied to, Marcus. Welcome! - more would be welcome too but make it soon. Have today mailed two UK and one to Brazil. Please post here when received.
  11. Do you mean it's a good day to start, Mike? Plenty of time to listen and prepare comments? Public holiday here in the UK too. Is this the smallest BFT yet, in terms of number signing up? Thirteen now. I only hope a lively discussion will make up for it.
  12. PM received and replied to, Marcus. Welcome! - more would be welcome too but make it soon.
  13. Yes, Red, I gathered it is a fairly loose term, more an expression of emotion engendered than applicable to a specific style?
  14. All CD's, except two UK based, mailed this morning and those two will be on the way later in the week. So with luck everyone will have theirs by next Monday, May 1. Let me know if there's any problems - packing is only light to reduce costs but I can easily send replacements if necessary. And let me know when they arrive if you can. BFT#35 answers are up so I should be able to start the discussion thread early next week. Right on schedule so far!
  15. couw is now on board for the cruise - that makes a dozen. A small but select crew. Any more of the regulars willing to take a chance? Anytime -
  16. Hey... hey.... HEY NOW!!!! What??? Nahh, just bustin' yer chops is all! Me likey da greeeeeeeeaze, da louder da better!!!! "greeeeeeeeeeeaze" ? I'm not sure I understand these arcane expressions but trying to learn. So that is greeeeeeeaze, is it?
  17. So now my original copy arrives, postmarked April 3 I think - came today. Only nearly three weeks - not too bad.
  18. Aiming to start discussion as soon after the 1st May as possible, subject to the vagaries of the mail of course. Burning is being done right now. I will begin mailing early next week, with a slight stagger in favour of more distant places. It's still not too late to join in - just send me a PM - but make it soon.
  19. Hey... hey.... HEY NOW!!!! What???
  20. Got a copy of BFT35 at last, thanks to Sidewinder. Mostly all at sea though – doubt if I can contribute anything that hasn’t already been guessed more than once at least. 1. and 2. off the beaten track for me so no ideas but enjoyable. 3. is “Stormy Weather” of course but no ideas as to who is playing. Sometimes reminded me of Rahsaan but I don’t listen to him much either, and sounded earlier anyway. 4. is “Exactly Like You” – nice version – pianist sounds familiar but that’s as far as I got. 5. No ideas. 6. Ditto. 7. “Chega de Saudade” or “No More Blues”. Sounds like Gary Burton I think. I liked it a lot. 8. No ideas again. 9. Is it Lockjaw? NMCOT at all, I avoid this kind of playing at all costs unless it’s included in a BFT, in which case I am duty bound to listen all the way. Gets worse towards the end. 10. Reminded me a little of Sonny Criss but I don’t think it’s him. 11. “Lester Leaps In” of course – all I know. 12. I know the tune but what is it? Seemed to say Cedar Walton, Bob Berg, Curtis Fuller, Sam Jones and Billy Higgins but I just can’t think what it is or where it comes from. One good thing about posting late is that I can look at the answers already given straight away. A nice change of pace for a BFT, MB, particularly at the beginning. Thanks for a horizon-broadening challenge.
  21. Still nothing in the mail so request sent by email to Sidewinder. I'll be very late with any comments. Tooter - no problem. Please email or message your address details (I think I have them somewhere but just in case..) Thank you, Sidewinder, for the disc - arrived this morning. BFT#35 comments prepared and posting now. I've just beaten the answers by the look of it.

  23. It's not too late to sign up for BFT36 - I'm hoping for rather more than the eleven who have come forward so far. Although each track contains a baritone solo, it is not all baritone by any means, so don't be put off if you happen not to like the instrument. How many can there be who fall into that category?
  24. I received mine this morning, one week after Brownie, and there are a few miles between our houses ! Good! Still nothing here though. We did get a delivery after I had posted as above but still no BFT35.
  25. I have the same problem in France. Brownie has already received his disc and I do not have mine for the moment. I had no problem in the past with the discs of Randy Hersom and Brownie... I had the problem just once before and the disc finally arrived after a second one the compiler had sent me. I can't believe that the postal services in France are as bad as what we have to put up with in the UK though
