  5. Larry Doby, now that was a hero. Thank you for sharing the NYT obit.
  6. My twisted logical conculsion picks Driver B. He was always in the money and by a point system he would have been driver of the year.
  7. I stopped to think about this topic but then I forgot to start again.
  8. I had lots of and during those years. Graduated from high school . Thought I was in love, got married and had two kids by the time I was 22. Worked for the family business and did day care on the side. Caught the husband cheating the year I was 25 , (just so nobody gasps in horror, this was not the wonderful man, Mr. Kartoffel-haddi blues, that I am married to now and have been for over 14 years). Looking back on those years I now realize how many foundations of my life’s lessons were learned during those years. Those lessons helped make me a better mother, a better wife and I think a better person.
  9. I picked up the entire series on DVD awhile ago for the husband. The parts I've seen so far have been quite enjoyable and interesting.
  10. Welcome Leanne!! I've been longing for more women to join this board. Up until Patricia and you joined I felt very outnumbered. I will say this though, this is a great bunch of men even when they act like little boys. I love you guys
  11. Does this mean if he pisses me off I get to blame you? (just kidding) The more members, the more I learn. Welcome Evan!!!
  12. The powers to be did just that and checked all of the bats at the Hall of Fame. No cork.
  13. What, speculation and more speculation?
  14. Give me George Carlin any day. Couldn't even begin to tell you which is my favorite but he does have a good monologue where he starts with cats and ends with dogs.
  15. Heard a report today that there are no crowds in the stands when the Cubs have batting practice.
  16. Go with the concert. You can always catch the baseball highlights later.
  17. I was so disappointed when I heard about this yesterday. Everything he had accomplished in baseball will now be tainted.
  18. Nice to know there are others who like the show. I've had my eye on the first season DVD set. Haven't been able to justify buying it yet. Somehow other things like BILLS get in the way.
  19. I voted for Rear Window and my second pick which isn't on the list is The Trouble With Harry.
  20. Neal Cavuto on Fox has a big head. He even gets mail about his big head.
  21. It sounds as if the tranny is the most major breakdown you have had with the car up till now. With the amount of miles on the car many things could start to go wrong. Next thing to go could be the engine and then you would really be in a world of hurt. Go with a newer Toyota or Honda. Saturns also have a pretty good record.
  22. When your in the middle of labor and trying to give birth, every head is too big.
  23. I forgot to add that I'll take Yukon Jack instead of beer.
  24. Bill Dixon
  25. Have you ever hear Carlos w/Alice Coltrane, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette and others on Illuminations? Bill Laswell did some remixing resulting in the disc Devine Light. 7/6 I may have heard it on something my husband has. I can't even tell you if he has any of the artists you named. My knowledge of jazz is sorely lacking. The husband takes care of the Jazz and Led Zepplin. I take care of the other genres. Thank you for making me feel better about my choice.
