Organissimo (dry) t-shirt contest

Personally I'd drop the WWW. You can get to the site just fine without it and everyone knows that its implied anyway. -

The bueaty of CafePress is the lack of up-front costs. Also the shirts are quite nice. I've been using them since they first began and they had some quality problems at first but they fixed those years ago. All of the merchandise comes with a money-back guarentee. Jim does have to fool around with shipping or credit cards or returns, they do most of the labor and Organissimo get a check for the profit. In addition, by using them we have lots of choices beyond just t-shirts. I sell bass clef stuff there and I sell mostly sweatshirts, clocks and coffee cups. T-shirts are a distant fourth. -

I like this. Keep in mind that we are going to be wearing these in Louisville in July where it will be friggin' hot. -

The hundred bucks is to make sure no one orders one. the final cost will be no where near that expensive. -

No extensions are possible for the Jazz Workshop version since we're cutting it to the wire as it is. -

Is that a th..th....th...thong I see? B) Bill, Definitely need to get some of the lady style tees made up. Either the tank tops or the lower neck lines with the shorter sleaves. My lady wants me to order a few for her. Indeed it is a thong! An Organissimo thong, you know I really like the sound of that. -

As you do this keep in mind the purpose. We need people to see that its a Jazz forum and its URL without asking for info. There will be over 400 people at the Jazz Workshop and there is no way Uncle Skid and I can answer question from all of them. To see a sample of what can be done go here. Just don't order any of these. -

You can see the types of shirts available at my Bass Clef Shop. -
Uncle Skid and I are headed off to the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshop shortly. I approached Jim (B3-er) about t-shirts for us to wear amongst those 400+ jazz students and 50+ jazz professional advertising this forum. He was in favor of such a project. Since we have seen the graphic arts skills of many of the members here, Jim suggested a contest. Design the Organissimo Jazz Forum t-shirt. The shirts will be (at least initially) made by CafePress (I have used them successfully for a few years). The rules: 1. You are designing both the front and back of the shirt. 2. Image Size: 8 x 10 or 10 x 8, 100-300 DPI saved in PNG or JPG format. 3. You have ONLY until June 17, 2004 at Midnight EDST. The Prize: You will know that you have helped bring this forum to a large number of Jazz fans and I will will give you one of the shirts. If there is interest these shirts will be made available to all forum members.

How Long Has Jazz Been In Your Ears?
Upright Bill replied to Dan Gould's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
The first albums I remember buying were Frank Zappa, Barney Kessel, MC5, Herb Ellis, King Crimson, George Shearing, Iggy Pop, John Mayall, Yes, Vanilla Fudge and The Frost. So, I've loved Jazz since about 1967 (14 years old). I've been totally obsessed by it for about 10 years after about 5 years of classical music snobbery and 10 of nuttin' but the Blues. -
Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshop
Upright Bill replied to Upright Bill's topic in Musician's Forum
All of the evening concerts are free, except Wednesday. Wednesday is sponsored by the Louisville Jazz Society and, therefore, the only concert where you can have a drink. All of the lunch and dinner concerts are only the cost of a meal at Masterson's (the price is low but the cost to your taste buds is high). A couple of folks from the Double Bass list will be attending concerts with us as well. -
Uncle Skid and I are making our second Annual pilgrimage to Louisville to the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshop at the University of Louisville from July 4 to July 9. Is anyone else going? Any one in the Louisville area care to “hook-up?” BTW, we've been to Rich O's.

Any suggestions for the self-employed/insured...
Upright Bill replied to BERIGAN's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
The local chamber of commerce should know about the local small business owners association. The SBOA should have a program of group insurance available. Also the Musician's Union has insurance programs Musician's Union. -
Mine is really difficult. Many people think that the Upright part comes from the fact that I play Double Bass, but if that were the case I'd be Double Bill. Actually the Upright part is a random series of keystrokes I pressed when I was registering. Bill is because my name is Bill. See I told you it was difficult!

My wife is really into Georgia O'Keefe. We have prints of her stuff on the walls in every room.

My wife says the same thing, I've never eaten at one of his restaurants so I could be wrong, but based on what I see on his show I'm betting that he must be really good at hiring chefs.

So you don't go to bed reading Harold McGee's "The Curious Cook: More Kitchen Science and Lore" do you?

Bobby doesn't grill, he does girly sauces and and dainty finger dishes. Real grilling involves charcoal, some fire spice (chunks of hardwood to make some smoke, best when they come out of your own backyard or wood shop). A propane grill is just your kitchen stove moved outside. A real grill is a 55 gallon drum cut length-wise with a cast iron rack. I have two pork butts in the fridge right now resting up for their 10 hour trip on my grill tomorrow. Homemade BBQ sauce. Pulled pork at my house tomorrow afternoon.

I've been told that my sleep schedule is strange. Sunday through Thursday nights I go to bed between 12 and 1 AM. Friday and Saturday nights I go to bed between 3 and 4 AM. I wake up every day by 7 AM and I never set an alarm.
