  1. If interested, I have the following items for sale on EBay: Dexter Gordon - 'Nights at the Keystone, Vol. 2' (Starting Bid: $7.99) Miles 'Plugged Nickel' Box Set (Unopened) (Starting Bid: $40) Thanks for looking!
  2. I have, on a few occasions, noticed BMG stocking a newer version of an item they previously had. For instance, Dexter Gordon's 'Go'. I purchased the old McMaster version of this when they had it in their Clearance section. A few months later, they received the RVG edition. Another example would be Art Blakey's 'Night at Birdland' (I forget which of the two volumes it was...). For a while, they actually had both the McMaster version and the RVG at the same time...for the same price, no less!
  3. You might find some helpful information here as well... Fallout2 FAQ's
  4. You're right about Fallout Tactics - it was a strategy game. However, there was indeed a sequel to Fallout. See below for a review... Fallout2 Review @ GameSpot
  5. I'm going with the Selects. Since I have 1 and 2, I'll start with 3 and continue thusly (1 per month) until I get 'em all. As for the bigger sets, will probably wait until they're on the Running Low/Last Chance list.
  6. There actually was a sequel to Fallout released a few years ago. Should still be easy to find...and at a good price, I imagine.
  7. Have you tried emailing BMG about this? They're usually pretty responsive - it might take them a couple of days but they will get back with you. I haven't ordered anything in a few weeks so I haven't experienced this problem myself...
  8. Yeah, I've got the same problem. I won't be able to play any of the new games coming out unless I upgrade...which I really do not need to do right now! I mean, c'mon...there's just entirely too much good music that I don't have! However, the new Half Life and Doom games do indeed look stunning...
  9. Hey Sal, Well, I'm 27 so I grew up with pretty much the same stuff you did. Atari 2600, NES, Sega Master System, Super NES, Sega Genesis...from there I moved onto PC games...and when the Playstation arrived, I moved back to consoles. The original Playstation was an absolute revelation! A few years later I got back into PC games...but when my computer could no longer handle the the new games coming out, I switched back to consoles. I currently have (up and running) a PS2, Nintendo Gamecube and Sega Dreamcast. Don't spend nearly as much time (or money) on this stuff as I used to. Seems my obsession with jazz (and the audio equipment to play it on) has overcome just about all other interests. However, I still manage to find time to become immersed in a virtual world every once in a while. And I imagine I always will...
  10. The next batch of Verve's "LP Reproduction" series are available for pre-order as well for $6.99 each...
  11. Gotta go with BFrank on this one... "Rainy Day, Dream Away" is my absolute favorite. As for the others...well, there's just too many good ones to pick from!
  12. Well, you still have time to borrow money from a buddy, apply for a credit card, take out a loan...rob, cheat, steal...whatever. Yes, this set is that good.
  13. My Alpine is from 2002 (Model# CDA-7892) and has no problems with CD-R's.
  14. Interesting question... I await the responses of those who can answer this!
  15. Go for an Alpine. Those are great units...
  16. You're asking how to do this when posting to these forums? In that case... When you click the web link button (grey "http://" button), you are first asked to enter the URL. This is where you put the actual link (http://msn.espn.go.com/). Then you are asked for the "title" of the web page. This is where you enter the text as you wish it to appear in your post ("espn"). Simple as that!
  17. At work listening to 'Monk's Blues' for the first time. Fascinating to hear Monk in a big band setting! Like a previous poster, I'm curious as to whether there are any reissue plans for this one. Anyone know?
  18. 30,000 views, for nothing! It's now up to over 94,000 views... ...and for nothing! Jeez. How do you guys find this stuff?!
  19. More new stuff added... Richard "Groove" Holmes - On Basie's Bandstand Jaki Byard Quartet - The Last From Lennie's Art Tatum - The Best of the Pablo Solo Masterpieces Oscar Peterson - Dimensions: A Compendium of the Pablo Years (4CD)
  20. That Thad Jones is a good 'un...and a good deal at $13. Someone better grab it!
  21. Freddie Hubbard - Goin' Up Hank Mobley - Thinking of Home Freddie Roach - Down to Earth Jimmy Smith - Softly As A Summer Breeze
  22. Hey...you're member #666. Creepy. I've only got the smaller version of the Blue Note Covers book. Guess I'll have to track down the two larger versions... 'Up and Down' has quickly become one of my favorites out of the batch of these that I bought. That Mosaic set is looking awful tempting...
  23. Since you've already heard 'Sunship', I would say give 'Interstellar Space' a listen. As suggested previously, 'Meditations' may help "bridge the gap", so to speak...but if you don't wish to purchase a copy of that one yet, go with 'Interstellar Space'. My favorite of the bunch...well, that and 'Meditations'.
  24. Thanks for the info on the new Selects, Garth. Good to have another Houstonian on board! (I'm currently living about 30 miles east of Houston, but commute to the Big City daily)
