Yes and it replicates a classic gatefold album and includes a few marijuana seeds as a bonus!

I mentioned these a while ago. Glad to see a few of you picked them up.

So now that some of you have purchased the Mosaic does anyone have a copy of the Lighthouse Sessions they'd like to sell?
-
Just got advanced copies of these new titles: Sharp Shades & Finger Snaps Righteousness Hip Hammond and Soulful Grooves Back Down To The Tropics Each is a 2 CD set covering a certain theme, as the titles indicate. The packaging and booklet are cool as well. Normally I wouldn't recommend a compilation or anything of that sort but these are nice little collectors items. Grab 'em if you can!

Check out his solo on "To Mickey's Memory" from this one: It's pretty smokin'

This collection really opened my ears to the beauty of Bix's playing which is nothing short of stunning. His solos are so logical and melodic. The sound restoration by Pomeroy is very very good. I was hesitant about buying this collection a few years ago but I'm glad I did. In fact I bought this and the Venuti / Lang at the same time.

Don't forget this one:

How do ya like me now????? Yes I did say that some months back didn't I? I actually had the good fortune of scoring tickets for last night's game and made the trek up to Boston. Fenway was electric to say the least and Wells pitched a great game (the Bullpen and especially Mike Timlin were equally brilliant last night) as he has done for the most part all season. I had my doubts when they signed him as I always believed him to be a Yankee down to his bone marrow but as the season comes to an end, I am now a convert. As frustrating as it is to once again concede the AL East title to the Yanks it occured to me that the final standings have become much closer over the last several years: 2002 New York Yankees -- 103 - 58 Boston Red Sox -- 93 - 69 || 10.5 GB 2003 New York Yankees -- 101 - 61 Boston Red Sox -- 95 - 67 || 6 GB 2004 New York Yankees -- 101 - 61 Boston Red Sox -- 98 - 64 || 3 GB 2005 New York Yankees -- 95 - 66 Boston Red Sox -- 94 - 67 || 1 GB <--- could be dead even tomorrow or 2GB Looking at the above standings tells me that the Sox have maintained relative consistency(had the pitching been 100% healthy I believe they would have broken 100 games in the win column and taken the East) while the Yankees are in a rapid decline. Is the Yankees Dynasty in it's twilight? Personally I think so. Their lack of WS Titles over the last 4 years speaks volumes as well. As their veteran players start to drop off over the next few years I think they are going to have increasingly weaker teams and lesser prominence in the standings. The same scenario could be argued for the Soxs' future but I think Theo Epstein and the new regime behind the Red Sox have done a better job than Stenibrenner's camp with regard to looking ahead for the long term future of their respective organizations. The Sox may or may not make the playoffs this year. If they don't I can live with it knowing that they will be back next year and for years to come as a serious contender. The Yankees are in and congratulations to them and all their fans. They played with a lot of guts this year to claw their way back up. Are they gonna get past Chicago, Los Angeles, poss. Cleveland / Boston and beat St. Louis in the World Series??? I don't think so.

I know Dan I know. You're absolutely right. I just don't see the magic in the team this year. Everything clicked last August thru October. This year it's very disjointed. There's no easy explanation really and yes Graffanino was an excellent pick up. But he's injured now right? I'm think I'm also frustrated that Mr. Steinbrenner's $200 million dollar project is finally working.

all I can say is... Orlando Cabrera After last night's miserable game I watched Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS to lift my spirits. I don't know if the Sox are going to make the playoffs. They haven't clicked all year and now it's crucial. How do you give up guys like Cabrera and Roberts and *gulp* Mark Bellhorn??? Those are some of the people that made up the spirit of last years team. And if I see Edgar Renteria make another error I'm gonna lose it!!!

this is great! -
Chicago's Scott Podsednik appears to be getting hit in the face by a fan as he catches a fly ball hit by the Yankees' Tony Womack at Yankee Stadium.

No but I heard he did do a duets album with Dick Hyman

July '05 Mosaic Running Low & Last Chance
bluesForBartok replied to Edward's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I picked this up a little over a year ago and I'm glad I did. Excellent singer, excellent sound and a great variety of sounds on this set. The list of musicians on these sessions is staggering!!! The small group stuff w/ Jimmy Rowles and Tal Farlow Session (F), and Session (G) w/ Paul Smith and Barney Kessel exemplify what a small group w/ vocals should sound like. And then of course there's the great writing by Giuffre, Holman, Mandel and Paich. Worth every penny IMO. -

Movie: Fantastic 4
bluesForBartok replied to connoisseur series500's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
uhhh was that pointed at me? And RDK I agree with the idea that there should be a "timeless" quality to these characters but I think it would have been a nice touch to give it a period feel. -
Movie: Fantastic 4

I haven't seen the movie but I had the pleasure of building the site for the Fan 4 Soundtrack. Everyone at the record label I work for all went to a screening the other night (couldn't go as I was on baby duty) and everyone I spoke to gave a big thumbs down. The general opinion was also that it was nothing but a set up for a sequel. It's too bad these movies keep missing the mark. I was a big fan of the fan 4 comics as a kid and when I heard this was in production I was really hoping they were going to keep it set in the early 60s which would have made it much hipper and accurate to the original series. Oh well -
Kinks were a great band. Count me in!

LF Bill Barron's Hot Line

I always thought his sound was a little like Coltrane's 56/57 sound right before the "sheets" period. Could be that Philadelphia connection. Anyone else hear this? -

Another New Yorker here sending best wishes to all Londoners. When will this craziness end? -
I certainly hope so Meanwhile the Sox take 2 of 3 from the Rangers. You take Foulke out of the picture and the late innings are not so ulcer inducing.

Hey Bertrand, Yes you can. I have 2 (a 2nd generation 20gb Model and a newer 40gb model). As long as you don't have iTunes set to automatically sync when you connect the iPod to the computer. I always keep that option off just to be safe. Make sure you also have the latest firmware updates on your iPod(s) as well. This can help with the efficiency of transferring music / data especially on the older gen models. Not sure if that makes any sense. If not let me know and I'll try to better explain.
