One of the major Argentinean guitar players of the XXth century is Oscar Aleman. born in Argentina in 1909 he made a living as variety artist, price boxer and guitar player. During the 1930s he played with Josephine Baker and performed in France. He is often compared with Django Reinhardt and, although nobody wants to compare the two guitar players experts say that Oscar's style of playing was more jazzy. Because of the war he moved to Argentina and became a famous star, first with his Quinteto de Swing and later as a star with an accompanied band. He never really left South America and that's why he is still world-known in South America and unknown in the rest of the world. On the Oscar Aleman Discography you'll find all his known recordings in an unique discography.
