I enjoy Moody from this period more than his later playing.

I've been playing this most days this week. Although I have all this music already I've not played much of it in recently and forgotten just how outstanding the playing here is.

I was never able to generate much love for this one.

A lovely pair.of classics. How about Tranqiulity next.

I missed that one. I knew I should have gone if only out of respect for the master and living legend. I did get to see him at Scott's (mid sixties?) with Jimmy Lyons and Andrew Cyrille. In the seventies I saw his performance at the Roundhouse with William Parker, Rashid Bakr and a female dancer.

This morning

Very sad news. Some of the most exciting piano music I've heard. Caught him live on two occasions both memorable.

Fortunately we have this, still sounds fresh more than 50 years after the event. .
