  1. Pulled this off the shelf earlier in the week because I wanted to play “Mother Ship” on my afternoon show and am now revisiting the set in its entirety for the first time in many years.
  2. I think the concern stems from Judge’s size, his injury history, and the greater physical demands of playing CF. Judge himself seems fine with it. It’s probably only for most of all of 2023 anyway, as Jasson Dominguez is on tap to take over the position once he’s fully recovered from TJS.
  3. The problem with that shipper is that he tends to drop his cargo at the first sign of an Imperial cruiser.
  4. It’s done: Juan Soto to the Yankees Going all-in on a one-year rental while Cole and Judge are still in their prime… I’m on board with it, but it’s costing them pitching depth.
  5. Same here, via USPS. Progress!
  6. Picked it up because of past comments made here by you! Any time I post that I’m listening to one of these FilmscoreMonthly-family reissues, it feels like a big yoo-hoo to TTK:
  7. ‘Tis the season:
  8. Ghost writers of a different sort: Sports Illustrated published articles by fake, AI-generated writers ... I'll be sticking to The Athletic anyway, thanks. SI was a venerable institution of my childhood and adolescence, but all things must pass, etc. In more directly-related baseball news: Sonny Gray signs with St. Louis Cardinals for 3 yrs/$75 million
  9. Donation made via your PayPal address.
  10. Butcher Brown, Solar Music:
  11. Another chance find from my visit to Landlocked Music this past Friday—seems like a good Sunday afternoon-into-evening record:
  12. Disc 1, beginning of a pretty deep journey:
  13. Disc three, which opens powerfully with “Sir Simpleton” and “Celebration” back to back.
  14. Revisiting some early JC now:
  15. I was just about to start a thread asking same after reading some of his comments in the Jimmy Raney thread and realizing that I hadn’t seen any posts by him recently. Best wishes to Larry… he is much missed by many here.
  16. A thumbs-up for this one, which I came across used at Landlocked Music today:
  17. Came across this one used for $6 at my local record shop… one of the joys of in-store browsing is finding albums like this one that weren’t even on my search list.
  18. … highly recommended, though I’m guessing many posters here are already familiar with it. I remember in my early days of Bud fandom either reading or being advised that this and the Xanadu Bud In Paris were prime examples of later-period Powell in outstanding form. And love hearing Coleman Hawkins and Powell together on the final four tracks.
