  1. I like what he did on this recording. I've seen this album posted numerous times on my Instagram feed, so figured there must be something going on here. Definitely not disappointed.
  2. A few years back I found someone here on the forum had posted about a Chicago store that was selling the Complete Roulette Recordings. It was somewhat over $200. You just don't ever see it that cheap. I snapped it up without hesitation. Got that too a few years ago.
  3. Just wanted to take a moment and crow about this box set arriving in the mail yesterday. Special thanks to member jazzkrow who gave me a heads up on this set seeing it was available on eBay for less than $60 minus shipping. Yep, you read that right. With the exception of the label peeling off the side of the box, the set is in pretty decent shape. How are you ever going to get a set this cheap? I'm really looking forward to hearing this collection after reading the commentary about how great this set is. Very excited!
  4. I was encouraged by a good friend here on the forum, I should seriously look into purchasing this collection. Looking for further feedback.
  5. Just wanted to share that I am now listening to the recording and as previously stated, excellent sound quality. If you are a fan of the previous volumes, you should purchase these unreleased live dates. You can order it directly from the Whailing City Sound website. It shipped and delivered very quickly.
  6. Just bought it yesterday and shipped this morning. Looking forward to hearing this.
  7. I ordered the Clarke/Boland Big Band 2CD set, Blowing the Cobwebs Out and paid only $25, not including shipping. It arrived very quickly and was here on Thursday. Very happy with the service. Thanks for your helpful input.
  8. I had 2 small parcels/cds expected to be delivered on Thursday. Only 1 was in the mailbox Thursday night. That parcel was scanned about 610 pm. The other parcel was scanned delivered but nearly an hour earlier. That makes no sense. Went to post office Friday and carrier admitted package was misdelivered. I'm hoping the CD will arrive still but not holding my breathe. Nothing in mailbox Friday night.
  9. Thank you very much guys. That was very helpful. I happened to see a recording that I was very interested in purchasing at a very affordable price but was hesitant. I thought, maybe too good to be true. I'll let you know how things go.
  10. https://cadnor.com/ Has anybody here in the past done business with this outfit? I happen to see a recording on the website that I'm very interested in, but no very little of the company and their reputation. Any information you could provide would be quite helpful. Thank you!
  11. Better late than never, the first 4 releases by Dwight Yoakam. Anyone who enjoys Merle Haggard or Buck Owens will find much to enjoy here. My favorite rock release hands down was the Deep Purple release = 1. I found myself playing this to death since it's early summer release. New guitarist Simon McBride has lit a fire under the band and the album is inspired and rocks with that classic Deep Purple sound. It made me feel like a kid again. Even saw them perform in New Hampshire in late August. Great show.
  12. Any thoughts on this release? Is it a legit release? Sounds good from what I've heard on Spotify.
  13. With Dave Schildkraut.
  14. If you're already a fan of Bob, he's in very strong form here. I'm very curious about this massive box set and while the price per disc is very cheap, I don't know how often I would listen to something like this even being a big fan. Somewhere I thought there was going to be a 3 disc set highlighting some of these performances. That might be more realistic to many including myself.
  15. A purchase made from Bill F many years ago.
  16. I feared this. it wasn't like Bill to not post for any length of time since he was such an active member here. Bill and I shared similar tastes in jazz. I will cherish our many conversations on Skype which go back more than a dozen years or so. We used to trade music back and forth and when Bill felt it was time to thin out his collection, I ended up buying a bunch of his CDs. Now that I know of his passing, I will pay tribute to my friend by playing some of that music in the coming days. Bill always used to get a chuckle when some board members which will go nameless, used to dump on Eric Alexander. He was a big fan and I believe at one point was able to see him perform in the UK. Bill, you were a good friend to me and will always remember sharing our love for jazz music. Your memory will live on around these parts. Thank you!
  17. A lesson learned, I will set up an alternative email account in case this happens in the future. A two-stage Authentication will also be in order. I won't go into details as to how I got myself back online but things are back to normal. I did receive notifications supposedly from Facebook that my password was changed then a follow-up email saying my email address was changed. To play it safe I didn't click on the link, instead I just typed in facebook.com and went about it that way. Aggravating as it was I'm back online. Thanks for the helpful advice everyone.
  18. Thanks. I've been playing with this for the past hour or so. Probably will check in later. Also IM on Facebook is no longer good. F***!
  19. Kevin, I received two emails overnight. One said my password had been been changed and the other was my email had been changed. When I do attempt to log in Facebook it does not recognize my password or my email address. I have gone on to their help page to file a report and it asks for my password and doesn't recognize it. One of the options suggested is that I provide a photo ID. Would you do something like that? Do you feel comfortable doing that? Right now, I haven't. I guess one thing I could ask since we are friends is access my account by clicking on my screen name and see what shows up if anything.
  20. Hey guys. I hope you can give me some assistance here maybe having dealt with this issue in the past. My account on Facebook was hacked overnight and both my email address and password has been changed. I have tried a number of options which include me providing a photo ID or some sort of documentation. A drivers license for instance. I have to admit that makes me nervous and balking at that right now. Any suggestions to get this account back up? They are asking for an alternative email but currently I have only one. This pisses me off and frankly if I can't find other options, perhaps its bye bye Facebook. That's last resort type of stuff. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  21. Could have done without the sappy solo stuff. Loved when he fronted The Raspberries. R.I.P.
  22. I don't get around here as often as I used to. Any news? Very concerned about my good friend.
