Will this be the first recorded instance of our favorite badboy booting HIMSELF?

grouper, I was using the antique Frank version. LDB used Brobignagian (or something like that) without regard for Johnathan Swift's underlying meanings. Probably too subtle for that guy.

Drifting into this thread, having been otherwise occupied since last Thursday, I have spent the better part of an hour covering its Rabalasian twists and turns. Since it's Monday morning it will take me some time to absorb the abundance of rich topics which have been covered. I have a favor to ask: In a couple of weeks I am off to Zihuatanejo to visit my friend Andy. Could someone do some Cliiff Notes for me?

There was a grizzled jazz drummer Who espoused the Oriental hummer Although past his prime He still moves to quick koto time He will start drinking this summer.

Chuck Niles just played "Daahoud" but he didn't know what the fuck "Bloviation" was. I guess he isn't a fan of Warren G. Harding. Sorry for a jazz note in this wanton thread.

I know there are some redheaded 50 year old half breeds running around in Okinawa as we speak. Oreintal chicks and raw fish. What else does a man need?

I always knew you were my kinda guy.

Follow up question: Did Lew dance whilst he was soloing? IMHO he's a better dancer than Monk.

What's the release date for the BBB disc? Does Lew toot his flute on it?

But on July 1, the temple is desecrated.

Is it true that the grouper is going through a DEEP dry spell?

Der TGropenfeuhrer vill lead us to victory! Und dat's der troot.

I really admire LDB since by ignoring the evidence, he believes the bullshit coming out of the White House. Anybody for a trip to Mars? P.S. It will be 70 degrees here today.

I remember hearing Glen Gray's Casa Loma Orchestra records at a friend of the family's when I was about 11 yearsold. I loved them. But listening to them now, I appreciate the musicianship and tightness of the band but Jimmy Lunceford sounds a helluva lot better.

It was gettin' a bit too cluttered with all those "s. My ears aren't good enough to tell the sound difference beteen the two, except for the pops and clicks, so I've opted to go the cd route. I've burnt about 250 of my vinyl lps to cds and still have about 1,000 to go. Now I'm downloading my cds onto my cute new ipod so I can take my music with me on our peregrenations. For me the best thing about the lps was the great covers, especially the Blue Notes and Contemporarys. But I sure like being able to load up a slug of cd's and not have to jump up every 26 minutes to flip the disc. After all, I'm quite old and decrepit.

Thank you you lovely patricia, you. I'm raising my fourth cup of strong, black coffee towards the Frozen North. FYI, word on the street is that soon there won't be no more corks but only screwtops. Something about cork shortage, which I probably helped create. Sacriledge!!! As far as I'm concerned, the infidels who are advancing that atrocity are the children of parents who never, ever married. It took me forever to be able to extract the cork, without rendering it into several chunks which plunged back into the bottle. If this obscenity becomes reality, my hard-won skill will be as useful as being an expert butter-churner. Damn!! A cup of coffee, thick and strong enough to walk a good-sized mouse across, is raised to the South-western coast. Of course my s.b.coffee has a drop of Tullamore Dew in it to ward off evil spirits. Irrelevant sidebar: my son in NYC sent me a 5 cd set of early Charles Brown for my b'dy. He may not be jazz but he is the epitome of smooth.

And a big fat "thnkyuvermuch" for the birthday wishes. I was born the day Calvin Coolidge died. It makes me wonder about reincarnation. In honor of our thread originator, the one, the only LDB, I had large quantities of Johnny Black, washed down with a nice Rhone and a drop of armangac. This drinking for two can be a task. I had double Advil for breckfast this morning. And now, back to our program "Lust, jazz and grammar."

I think I'll enroll in English comp 302. You guys are pretty damned good.

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Remind me not to wake you up, you scary guy.

LDB, Your Dry Deepness, this looks like another winner. In mine 'umble opionion, Gary Pribek is the most unsung altoist around. Rememebr, one for Chuck Niles and one for the KKJZ library. Mazel! HOP P.S. forget politics, especially while you are "dry." Leave that venue to Albertson.

Isn't Pete La Rocca some distant relative of Nick D.J. La Rocca? I read somewhere years ago, maybe something by George Wetttling. That Nick was a major league asshole. A well tanded wattle can be very erotic.
