  1. A funny story from the pages of real married life...........
  2. Happy Birthday, Tom!
  3. Happy Birthday, Chris!
  4. Is the entire Kansas City contingent a day late? Happy Birthday, Randy!
  5. Interesting possibility, mine was a "sister", though. Mom never told me the details, but she went to term and was born dead, perhaps strangled by the umbilical cord?
  6. I'm a first born (or rather, first surviving child, first born arrived stillborn), also. I have a younger brother that did not do as well as I did in either school or life. Of course, he was shy - because I tormented and intimidated the holy hell out of him while we were growing up!
  7. It is a tad slow, but working well, now. Thanks, Jim!
  8. It's good to be back! Thanks, Jim!
  9. One of my favorite PN films was "Absence of Malice". I also really enjoyed his wheelchair racing comedy bit in Mel Brooks "Silent Movie".
  10. Happy Birthday, Jim! Thanks for all you've given us!
  11. I love Korla Pandit...and that picture on that page is GREAT!!!!! It's funny too, cause the shot must have been staged. None of the drawbars are pulled out on the organ. Great shot! Thanks Jim. Also dig the name change to jette satin. My eyes are bad, but it looks to me like the "D" note preset is down. If it is, the drawbars are non-functional anyway. I like Korla Pandit, too, I used to get to see him on the old B & W TV when I was a kid in the fifties.
  12. RIP, Tom! I watched him on the Steve Allen Show and followed him from then on. He was a comic genius. Did I miss it or did the reviewer in the first post leave out his starring role in the movie "Zotz!"?
  13. Happy Birthday, Joe! "Another day older and deeper in debt......" - Sixteen Tons - Tennessee Ernie Ford, Merle Travis
  14. The B3's pedals do span the entire length of the organ. The organs that have an AGO 32 note pedalboard are even wider than a B3 (and of course weigh more, too). Yeah, I'd love to have an RT-3!
  15. Happy Birthday, Rooster!
  16. Thanks, Paul, I appreciate the info. I'm sorry I missed him. Before he left KC I tried to get him to give me some guitar lessons (I've never had any); and he embarassed me with the nicest (but very untrue!) compliment I've ever had, considering who it was from. He said he couldn't give me any, I didn't need them. He's a really nice guy, misdirected perhaps, but a really nice guy and a fabulous player.
  17. Happy Birthday, Paul! I didn't know Steve Cardenas was back in town again, but then again I don't get out much anymore. Where did you hear him play?
  18. The biggest "problem" I had to deal with was tonal difference from standard humbucker amp settings. The mini bucker is considerably brighter than a big 'bucker. The reason the guitars with floaters feedback more quickly than top mounts isn't the pickup. It's the fact that the body is uncut and fully acoustic, therefore more resonant and sensitive to vibration. Top mounted p-ups are also screwed down as well as cut into the top and then set with mounting rings that also act as vibration dampeners. These are also the same reasons the floaters are able to pick up a more natural acoustic sound. I emailed Joe a tune we recorded after I first got the Twin Classic 15 and hooked it up to the LeGrand two or three years ago, and I believe he commented about its "airy" and natural tone. Remember, Joe?
  19. It's a very good guitar, I don't think the ES-175 is really any better. I have the same floating pickup on my LeGrand, it tooks some getting used to and amp adjustmnents, but I love it!
  20. A terrible waste of a great set of hooters......

    T Bone Walker

Personally, when it comes to T-Bone Walker, I don't think there is a bad one.

    I second Dan's choice!
  23. At least once a day, usually more.
  24. Sassie told me about the Organissimo forum over at whatever the predecessor was to the Blindman's Blues Forum.
