he didn't get his ass kicked by the D-Backs, he made a bad throw on a bunt and a bloop over a drawn-in infield won the game for the D-Backs. The outcome was the same; that's all that matters. The Yankees have managed to avoid the natural order and cycle of things in baseball for far too long. Hopefully, they'll be paying for that over the next several years. They now appear even more mismatched than the Knicks, so I'm guessing that they will be sucking at least for a few years. So if a guy trips and breaks his nose it's the same as if he were in a fight and got his nose broken because the result is the same?!!! In the game that Goodspeak referred to, Rivera made a bad throw and a bloop over a drawn-in infield was the game/series winning hit. How can anyone characterize that as an 'ass-kicking'? So, Mo NEVER got his ass kicked? Just playin' devil's advocate here. It's pretty easy to say, and as obvious as obvious gets in this day and age, that he will be called the best RP of all time. I've seen him pitch often enough; I know he's good. He's probably a first ballot hall of famer. Great. But, how would he have done if his talents weren't so specialized and focused on one inning dominance? Is he as good as Goose Gossage, for instance? Just asking. I know it's difficult to make comparisons from era to era, but there's nothing that states that all later era players surpass all earlier era players. I never said that, I said that in Game 7 of the 201 World Series, Rivera DID NOT get his 'ass kicked'. He made a bad throw on a bunt, which was the key play that doomed the Yanks. The D-backs, to their credit, took advantage of it. If he got his ass kicked that time, wouldn't there be a bunch of hard hit balls? He hurt himself severely with the bad throw, there's no way anyone who understands English would call that an ass kicking.

Maybe the greatest 'guitar face' of all time, especially in 'Woodstock' when the screen was in three panels and he was facing himself on both sides! Fine player, he could certainly ROCK.

Congrats, the best place to hang on the web!!!

IIRC, ron carter had a few recordings with him playing a 'piccolo' bas and there was someone else playing a regular bass.

I was watching a Youtube clip of Petra Haden and 9 other women doing the Who's 'I Can see for Miles' acapella and live(It was excellent). One of the comments was 'Take that Autotune'. I nearly busted a gut laughing at that one. here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNFoNBz9Dbs

Jim, I ordered mine from Germany and I got no stickers.. I was even thinking when I saw your post to rip them off the package and mail them to you, but no stickers on the package at all. Could be the stickers are only put on for a package sent inside Europe.

Got mine today from Amazon.de and I'm listening to the first disc. There's such a flow to the music and they bounce from tune to tune effortlessly(or so it sounds, I know there's tremendous effort involved), like one brain with five bodies. Jack DeJohnette is KILLIN'!!!

Stunning pix, thanks for posting them. -
The bass player in the early years of TOP was Victor Conte, of BALCO/steroids fame.

Shouldn't they have had those extensive conversations BEFORE they hired him?

I believe that, why else would ARod take freakin' forever to have the surgery? He must have know no matter when he had it, it was going to be a lost season. He waited to have the surgery in order to reduce his recovery time. By strengthening the area around the hip his recovery after surgery would be lessened. I saw a story about it in the NY Daily News and IIRC it has also been reported in other outlets.

Arthur Blythe 'In the Tradition' I don't think has ever been released on cd. Great date with Stanley Cowell, Steve McCall and fred Hopkins IIRC. Killer version of 'Jitterburg Waltz' on it.

And the Phillies get?? Delmon Young. Meh. Think how much fun Delmon Young'll be when he's drunk and near a synagogue!

Doesn't explain how Tampa scored 48 on the Raiders and doesn't take into account Barrett Robbins vanishing. Also, if they really felt that, why wait ten years to say something?

my dentist wont return my knee

I had arthroscopic surgery on my left knee in 1996(torn meniscus) and have had no problems from it at all. I went to a local hospital, two blocks away, and it turns out that the surgeon was rated one of the top ten in NYC by New York magazine, so I got very lucky. After surgery I used a cane for three days, but walked normally afterwards. I was given rehab exercises to strengthen the joint and did them religously. After six weeks I returned to playing handball and I still play today(I'm almost 57). Surgery has advanced quite a bit and does wonders in many cases, especially with mine. Be sure to get an MRI to get a good look at your knee and check around for a good surgeon to do the job. -
I saw him with Dave Holand's Octet a few years ago and he was excellent.
