  1. There's also a third CD from these sessions called Collaboration. It has alternate takes from the Some Day and Autumn Leaves CD's (in fact Someday starts with an alternate from Autumn Leaves as well "Caravan"). I have these on (expensive) Japanese SACD's and they sound fantastic!
  2. I guess you know by now about Hiroshi Tanno (hiroshi@earlyrecords.com). I'm sure he can get it for you.
  3. Exactly my thoughts Cluncky! If the box isn't holding the 5 Mosaic set's I've ordered it's going "return to sender" at their expenses. So either way we (the customers) can't go wrong on this one.
  4. Sjarrel: please keep us posted on this one.......
  5. Just ordered 5 copies (the order page said "shipping within 1-2 days" and not backordered). Let's see. I've checked the catalog number with the EU set and it does match so this is good sign it's really the Mosaic set.
  6. and what to think of the Ebay listing fee.......
  7. Yes Mike it did make it to DVD (at least in Japan and Europe it did).
  8. Please do yourself a favour and buy the 2 cd set Tribute. It's magnificent from start to finish but it has the most incredible intro for All the Things you are I've ever heard (and believe me I've heard and played a lot of them....). This intro by Jarrett alone is so thrilling and over the top I get goosebumps every time I hear it (Just as the first track of the Personal Mountains cd but that's a whole different matter). Subjective ...yes but I have ALL the trio recordings (and all the other too for that matter) so I believe I can speak for this.
  9. Thanks Claude and Hans but that's what I wanted to avoid......Just a plain answer to my questions will do so if someone has this set please let me know.
  10. Hello all, did someone on this board get this box with the first 4 Beatles LP's (US ediitons) in both mono and stereo? If so when, where and by whom was this set remastered? Thanks!
  11. Bertrand: I hope you are using a Apple Mac? Here's the way to change your default settings with entering a CD/DVD. Go to System preferences, click CD/DVDs in the Hardware section and the pop up menue will let you change everything you need.
  12. Thanks Lon for the info!
  13. Lon didn't see my posting I guess (which was a joke of course). Do you know about Gary, Lon?
  14. 2) Ron McMaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Good but not great concert last night (Chris Potter). They seemed not so inspired but they are great musicians so it's good when they are playing not their best. The old Bim huis closes down the end of november to reopen on a new location in february. They played a nice version (arangement) of Giant Steps and a tune by Ornette Coleman (which I forgot). Further of course tunes from the Lift CD. Don't recall any in particular. Anyway a pleaseant (but not special) evening.
  16. Yes they do David but not the Mosaic sets because they are made in the US at the Universal plant and imported to Europe.
  17. yes it might be but that's shop stock and not Universal provided.
  18. the copies for the Mulligan set are long oop in the EU. Universal didn't take that much of them in the first place and they run out fairly soon and tried to get more from the States but with no luck. So the 7500 is including the Universal sold set's.
  19. Strange thing is this auction made the Dutch newspapers this morning. It said it was an auction by a Dutch woman (even named in the paper) so I'm puzzled by this auction. Are there more of these cakes or is this the buyer of the Dutch woman's cake. As you can tell with this selling price I'm baking cakes for the next couple of weeks to see if Mary (and the lottery) may come again!!!!
  20. this friday I'm going to the Bim Huis (Amsterdam, where the Marsalis Love Supreme DVD was shot) to see Chris Potter with Kevin Hayes, Scott Colley & Bill Stewart. Looking forward to that one!!!!
  21. I can't understand you seriously comment on something Aric writes....... The Japanese box is K2 remastered in Japan. Since there are a few sessions which didn't come out individualy in Japan as K2 remasters I've been thinking of getting this box (but didn't). 95% is out as Japanese cd remastered K2 or even Digitally K2.
  22. Mike: how about the 1957 Columbia The Birth of the Third Stream/Music for Brass sessions? They have Charles, Evans and Farmer on them.

    Dave Pell

BTW, is Dave Pell British? sort of...he's from the west coast
  24. Jazzmoose: if your posting is refering to the one by Wolff above yours it makes no sense...... The domestic RvG's aren't in the carton sleeve format you hate! I have almost all JRvG's and like most but certainly not all of them (soundwise). I keep those for the mini LP cover (which I love as all of you know by now). I'm in the luxury position to have all of the regular TOCJ's as well so if the sound of the JRvG isn't mine I play the regular TOCJ which is always good to say the least.
  25. I think Mr.Mingus just wrote his second and last posting.........
