  1. Trader Joe has their own brand of hot sauces, and they are good. I can't recall the name of my favorite, but it has black and red label. Hot!
  2. are you serious? i thought gutters were a must with basements
  3. I loved my Civic but it was a lease so I traded it in for a used Nissan Leaf, and I'm very pleased with it. Even though the Civic had great mileage (around 38-40 mpg), I was still having to fill it every 10 days, at around $18-19 each time. And, with yet another oil change coming up, I decided it was time to leave gas engines behind (mostly; wife's car is an old fashioned ICE) and go electric. I can easily make my round trip commute of 34 miles without charging, and when I have to, I have free charging at work! And I'm surprised at the acceleration! I actually don't hate driving anymore (for now, anyway)

    what bullshit now?
  5. yeah we used a Pod last year when we moved to Baltimore. seemed to work out just fine, price was decent, they were on time with both pickup and delivery. nothing got broken or lost. i didn't enjoy packing and unpacking the Pod but that was the only negative.
  6. wow they both are still looking young
  7. it's not even that good of a movie. overrated and definitely not a Christmas movie
  8. how did Graham tape everything? did he have equipment at the soundboard, or did he mean a personal recorder?
  9. it's hot here, just hot all the time. I couldn't imagine going any further south, this humidity and heat just drains the energy out of me
  10. I'm not that excited by this nostalgia version of Crimson. After years of consistently pushing forward, it seems like they are stalled in the past now. It was exciting 3 years ago when they first did this, but now, it's more of the same with nothing new. And I find the saxophone really doesn't fit well in most of the songs they are doing. VROOOM and Level Five sound a little too "yakety-sax" for me
  11. oh cool, I had no idea that was here. Still getting used to the area! I'd like to check this out
  12. damn
  13. I'm pretty sure there's no mellotron on Dinosaur. What sounds like one is coming from the guitars. The mellotron is only heard at the beginning of VROOOM.
  14. yes, it is fantastic. The instrumental passages are some of their very best. Less "song"-driven than THRAK. Even better live (Heavy ConstruKction)
  15. they play music during hockey? What's this now? You sure this just isn't from the terrible NBC coverage?
  16. thanks for the birthday wishes! don't come here nearly as often as before but i still check in once a week on average. nice to see who's still here,
  17. I wonder what other album/sessions they could release with a similar format?
  18. I don't think I like Mel's saxophone on the newer material, like Level 5 and especially VROOOM. Really has a yakety-sax feel to it. Just completely out of place on those songs. Not the biggest fan of Jakko's voice, either. Glad they're back, though.

    Wayne Shorter

    I agree with you. Terrible
  20. Yeah, the MARC train would only take you to Bowie, I think, and that's probably the closest you'll get using public transportation. The area is served well if you need to get to the immediate DC suburbs, or between DC and Baltimore. Anything west or east of that immediate corridor and you're on your own. I was just in Baltimore a few weeks ago, and used the Light Rail and MARC train to get from my hotel in Baltimore to my next hotel in DC. I had never realized (or maybe just never checked) just how close they are. Took about 45 min or so to go from Baltimore to DC. No idea about record stores in DC, although I did see a FYE in Union Station!
