    Willie Maiden

"Dancing Nitely" [sic] is a Bill Holman, not a Willie Maiden chart.
  4. I think Claude means not that he is "researching" this Kenton material but rather that he is "searching for" this material. The confusion arises with the French word "chercher," which means "to search for" or "to look for," not "to research."
  5. Is it possible that Mulligan used "Utter Chaos" only a brief signature piece or theme to signal the end of a set? If it's only a few bars, then the recording may not include the tune among the selections performed. "Utter Chaos" is one of the tunes included in the Mulligan collection of published duets. It's a full-fledged tune, but he may not have always treated it as a performance piece.
