  1. Conn- who did you pick- I'll put it in when I get home this evening.
  2. I gave Conn and SS1 SF- SS1 you need to re-do your Sun and Mon picks- I had to pick everyone to save the SF pick so I picked all home teams and gave you 1 pt for MNF
  3. 10.99 for my bottle. For the Deadheads reading this: http://www.dogfish.com/community/news/press-releases/dogfish-grateful-dead-brewing-grassroots-collaboration.htm
  4. same here- who did you pick for Thursday? I'll put it in. How about Conn?? I picked SF.
  5. I bought a bottle last year- it was good! Glad they made another batch of it- will be buying a bottle tomorrow.
  6. I have no idea who to pick anymore...
  7. SS1- I gave you Baltimore and all of the home teams and "1" for the total points. Go in and change your picks for all games for Sunday and Monday and put in your total points.
  8. Would love to see the replacement refs go on strike. I equate the replacement refs to myself being asked to umpire Major League Baseball. I think I'm a pretty good HS and rec ball umpire but I'll be the first to say no way to doing an MLB game. They're probably pretty good in their specific Divisions and conferences but are in way over their head.
  9. Nice start everybody!
  10. Enjoying the pumpkin beers- Dogfish Head Punkin is one of my favorites.
  11. Is Van Basten II playing? He didn't make any picks. I can add in his pick for Cowboys-Giants.
  12. You will get reminders from us- and I can "fix" things if something goes wrong!
  13. We've been doing this for a few years now- CONN is Commish. Simple pick-em, no point spread. Just for fun. No money involved. If you want to play this year, copy this link into your browser and use the password below: LINK: http://organnissimo....cbssports.com/e PASSWORD: 2012 You need a CBS sports ID to play- if you don't have one, it's easy to make one. All the rules are on the website- but if you have any questions- feel free to post them here! Mike Scoring: • Pool includes all pro games. • Ties go to player with closest total points for MNF game. • Players who do not make picks for a given week, will receive one fewer point than the player who had the lowest correct picks score for the week. Deadline: • Pick deadline is one hour before each day's first game. This means that you can make picks up until one hour before games in weeks that have games that start before Sunday. If there is a Thursday game, you can still make picks for Sunday's games up until one hour before kickoff, even if you missed the Thursday game deadline.
  14. sorry guys- been real busy with work, coaching softball, umpiring softball, children, grandchildren, my wife...not all in that order! Want to do the one from last year or SS1s?
  15. Here it is- http://organnissimo.football.cbssports.com/e 2012
  16. We were in Atlantic City in 2009, and got to watch part of the air show from the Boardwalk. That was a great place to watch a show! The Thunderbirds were there that year, dunno if they're always the headliner there or not. Fun time! Aggie- they are the headliners every year. It's on a Friday this year (instead of Wed) so I will be attending! You and the Mrs. should also!
  17. I like the Oceana NAS airshow in Virginia Beach- I want to attend the Atlantic City airshow in August this year.
  18. Tigers are now the slowest team in MLB.
  19. Thanks again!! This thread is a form of recycling- gets resurrected each year. I appreciate the well wishes!
  20. Well, since this methods works- you'll run away with this next year! Well done NOJ!! Conn suggested the people tied for 1st pick the weekly playoff games. I like that. If both tie with wins the first week- go into the 2nd week, and so on until there's a weekly winner.
  21. Boy- is this going to be a wild finish! Lots of diversity in picks.
  22. Agreed- I always hate the last week when doing pools. I think the pressure is all on you because this week is going to be like the last week of pre-season. Playoff teams sitting people, teams out of it seeing what they have for next year. Everyone behind you can take chances on the upsets- they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I suggest that any tie be resolved by having the tied leaders select the winners of playoff games, week by week, until one person has taken the lead - a "sudden death" playoff. To me, choosing a winner based on an individual's performance in any given week or weeks seems incredibly arbitrary. And I am not saying that because I have won only one week this season. Alternatively, we might select a winner by looking at the tied leaders' MNF points predictions. For example, if one person's MNF points predictions are off by an average of one point each week and the other's are off by an average of two points, then the first person wins - obviously the actual calculations would probably be a little more complicated. You're asking me to do math?? I'm hoping NOJ or someone else wins this out-right. It's YOUR pool (rhetorically) so a majority for tie-breaker would be nice. I'd like to hear from everyone. I'll ask some friends in other pools and see what they propose.
  23. Exactly....except I have one left with 6 years until college. An hour drive to work each way is not so bad.
