  1. I just leave it up all day while I'm at work. When I'm at my desk, I visit. Usually pop in a few times over the weekend as well. After the wifey and little guy are all tucked in.
  2. I just remember that you guys were finally listening to something that I have. Conn and Freef NEVER listen to anything that I want to listen to.
  3. 55 here. Only going to be 35 tomorrow, and hovering around the mid-20's Sunday.
  4. Deliverance?! Sorry, she was likely 16 when they married which is legal in many states. Besides, can any of you top that? 50 years. That's a long time to be together.
  5. Don't fuck with Gramma!! http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/01/26/...in2400439.shtml
  6. I've been avoiding this box for exactly this reason. The mythology behind it, the concept, they sound really cool. And although I love to hear him solo, I'm not sure I'd really dig a box set of nothing BUT his solos. I have the Complete Savoy And Dial Studio Recordings box set and even though the music documented there is awesome, the wealth of alternate takes, false starts, etc...sometimes make it difficult to sit through. I mean, how many versions of Romance Without Finance are really necessary? I would think constantly jump cutting from one solo to the next would have a similar effect as far as listenability is concerned.
  7. I listen to one of those bands!!
  8. And as far as Rod Stewart goes, I don't know that I've ever heard a tune from him that I truly didn't like. Gasoline Alley, baby!! And I was always a big fan of Young Turks.
  9. THIS is the ultimate Elton John album, IMO. C'mon, Tiny Dancer, Levon, Indian Sunset? Those three alone are absolutely priceless! Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding? All The Girls Love Alice? C'mon.
  10. Ditto. Lotsa gems in there! No doubt. Question: does anybody else with this box have a problem with the paper cover on the back, or bottom, of the box. Mine wasn't properly glued on and now comes off everytime I pick it up.
  11. Did I say that?!! Ohmigod! I was just sitting here innocently listening to The Strokes, and..............
  12. And hopefully they won't find out that they're friends with Hammy. That would blow the whole jig.
  13. You are correct sir, but I was only speaking of the two that are OOP. I had only heard him as a sideman, naturally, until I picked up Telepathy. Man, I was blown away by his compositional skills!! Aside from Hamid Drake, Stewart is the only modern day drummer that I can truly wrp my ears around these days.
  14. Are you flirting with me, Mr. Thornton?!
  15. Keynote Speaker. I still haven't picked that one up. But I love Stewarts playing, and his composing is actually pretty high quality stuff as well. As can be witnessed in his criminally OOP Blue Note discs (which are still two of my most prized discs).
  16. You may want to more clearly define "budget".
  17. Man, I gotta check this site out some more. There's gold in them thar hills!!
  18. Cyndi Lauper??!!! Moosely is right, it's a hoax.
  19. Gay authors aren't bad for children.
  20. Elton John made the list twice as well. Because he's really gay, at least that's what this guy said.
  21. Have you tried The Marciac Suite? IMO, that's the best album Wynton ever put out. The Village Vanguard set is also very well played.
