I've been avoiding this box for exactly this reason. The mythology behind it, the concept, they sound really cool. And although I love to hear him solo, I'm not sure I'd really dig a box set of nothing BUT his solos.
I have the Complete Savoy And Dial Studio Recordings box set and even though the music documented there is awesome, the wealth of alternate takes, false starts, etc...sometimes make it difficult to sit through. I mean, how many versions of Romance Without Finance are really necessary?
I would think constantly jump cutting from one solo to the next would have a similar effect as far as listenability is concerned.
