  1. His 'Substance problem'??? What's that? Perhaps it's a substance abuse problem? No? Hunh. Wierd. ---HB
  2. Loved the Minutemen, Firehose, well.... My ex-girlfriend used to go out w/ George Hurley, and when I met George, backstage at a Firehose show, with my then current and Georges ex, he was very nice and gave us free t-shirts. I was the typical "jealous boyfriend' and (thought) that I had to keep an eye on the 2 of them throughout the aftershow party. I vividly recall my ex yelling at Mike Watt "Mike, you SMELL!!! Take a fuc*ing shower!!" That was priceless, as Watt smelled like a dolled up skunk! hahaha! Memories!! Viva the Minutemen!!! ---HB

  10. I have a copy of Sonny Stitt's "Now!", that has a Philips stereo label (Black w/ silver print). Pressed (?) in Holland. The cover the same as the U.S. Version. I have the original, and this is different. Whuss up w/ that??
  11. RE: Vaclav Havel, I read, loooong ago, that he prefered Captain Beefheart, and said as much to Zappa! Hooorah, Havel!!! ---HB
  12. Billy Murray...A.K.A. The Denver Nightengale, one of the top selling early recording stars of the early 1900's. Does anyone on this board enjoy/like/know of him? Tiny Tim once told me that he (Tiny Tim) was shocked/outraged that there was not a statue of Murray, somewhere in Denver. I understand that Murray was not born in Denver, but spent/lived a considerable time here. He did some great sides, not really 'jazz', but wonderful just the same. Anyone care to comment? ----HB

  23. Burton Greene Quartet Orig. ESP. 1966. Let's see, we got Marion Brown, Henry Grimes, Dave Grant, Frank Smith and Tom Price....ain't that a Quintet? I just dug this out of a long forgotten box...still dig it!! Wait a minute, including Burton Greene, That's a septet!! Wha!?!
  24. TRIO IMPROVVISAZIONE "Like a Breath" Metalanguage. 1982. Fantastic trio, minimalist (not always) pieces of pure brilliance. Players: Guido Braesola: Viola/ Marco Canepa: Piano/ Adriano Mondini: Oboe, English Horn. Verilly, 'tiss goode!!!
  25. I once owned an album that had a glow in the dark cover. A "friend" came by and wanted to see the effects of the cover. So, he put the LP in my bathroom, placing the LP directly behind the lighting fixture, to tone it up. Stoopid me, I let him do this, thinking "surely he will take the record out of the sleeve as to prevent:WARPAGE!! " Well, he did not. The result was an amazing true glow in the dark experiance AND a very warped LP. Selah!! ---HB
