  1. It's a brilliant album. You are very fortunate to listen to this for the first time ! I'll bet that your impressions will be very positive... :tup Enjoy !
  2. interesting label variation. I've compared with my Mono Cornbread. Mine has the regular info. Never seen this one..
  3. You are right : the 707-420 pictured here was produced for BOAC and featured Rolls Royce Conway engines. Most other 707 used Pratt and Whitney JT3D / JT4D (IIRC)
  4. Well, if it doesnot work with records, you can try this way :
  5. Early 60s? Yes. The two lou Blackburn albums are Two Nite Samba and the other one on Imperial are from 62 (IIRC) : both with tpt Freddie Hill and Horace Tapscott IIRC/2). Fine session, reissued on CD o with the title : Perception (anothe reissue on "blue note") Fine music. Quite tough to find on original issue. Yes, I have the cd. I thought I might dispose of the vinyl. Shame it's not in better shape. It could well be an original stereo issue but I've never seen another copy or another Imperial album for that matter, Some imperial Mono were issued with stereo stickers. Stereo imperial are hard to find (and sometimes different mix or take, like the Warne Marsh)

  7. Remind me of this the next time you contact me. "When it comes to money, everyone has the same religion" (Voltaire).
  8. When he plays rockabilly.
  9. and now spinning this CD :
  10. Thanks to all, in fact my question was more regarding PRESENT jazz music or musicians being attractive and ARTISTICALLY valued in 15 years, not on a market point of view, just artistic...
  11. I'm just trying to boost the value of his collection. Monsieur de Norpois a un avis sur tout ! You are very kind as always
  12. I was not talking about Ebay prices particularily... just what kind of jazz music will be regarded as "hype" in the future
  13. I have all the Herman Foster you are talking about. They are all fine records, and HF was a very original pianist, with a very distinctive sound. I recommend the Explosive Piano of Herman Foster on Epic . Among his other records, which is the best of all his trio/leader work.
  14. My psychiatrist is achieving the second volume of his book about my obesssion of jazzcollecting. He doesn't want me to quit with my nasty habits, because he still needs me. Your opinion about what kind of jazz music and what record will be collectible in 15 years is useful to him, in order to anticipate the future episodes of my troubles.
  15. Terje Rypdal : Odyssey
  16. Original Blue Note album collection for sale. All profits will be given to the Bernard Madoff Foundation
  17. Unforgettable soundtrack (un)forgettable movie... Toute une époque.
  18. you can legally stream it here... sounds good to me http://www.deezer.com/#music/album/107221 Thank you . I'm a big deezer Deezer aficionado (very useful before buying), but i did not think about it.
  19. Thank you for any other suggestion and advice about Don Menza.
  20. Me thinks it is a little too very much expensive for such a little plastic round that is not even possible to read on a table that turns with a needle and not even makes 33 turns 1/3 in one minute when it turns.
  21. An interesting record by Portugueses singer Luis Cilia regarding Angola :
  22. No. Otherwise Portugal would have win many international soccer titles.
  23. Accept no substitutes ! Definitely! With 'ear', ça va sans dire. Mais cela va mieux en le disant ! Without the ear, life is not prefect. Now spinning : Jazz Message #2, Savoy12092 Red DG
