  1. King Fleming Trio "Misty Night" Argo 4004 DG white label promo and later : Johnny Costa Trio on Coral DG original (too shy to chek the catalog #)
  2. Yes. I was a passenger. They played Recado Bossa Nova in the plane, as a relaxing music while take off.
  3. I guess I need to get Dippin', huh?
  4. I will never be able to decid which Mobley album is my favourite. Soul Station is a part of the "mighty triumvirate" (copyright Sidewinder) "Soul Sation Roll Call Wokout" Mobley's best era - probably. "The More i see you" is one of my all time favourite Mobley tune (on Roll Call). Anyway, many althought later albums are not as well considered as those three, the title song "No Room for Square" is a fabulous one. I also like A caddy for daddy", especially the first two songs : "Caddy " and "The day After" a very underrated masterpiece. High Voltage is a fine one, i love the away Blue Mitchell playas against the tempo (like Mobley used to). Back to Soul Station, i think that it is the session that has the best "density" ; i mean : nothing to forget here. Every title is fine, Mobley is inspired on every tune.
  5. By the way... :Art Pepper gets Very spicy
  6. Is it the equivalent of the "Like Sonny" CD on Roulette ? Well, I don't know, but "Simple Like" from the Roulette disc has the same melody as "Like Sonny" from Coltrane Jazz, although, of course, these are different recording sessions with different personnel. The three cuts from the Roulette LP, along with an alternate take of "Exotica", are on the Like Sonny CD. That CD is filled out by a Wilbur Harden LP originally issued on Jubilee. Don't know if the Morgans have ever made it to CD. Thanks for the information, Paul. Yes ! after reading all those comments i just ordered it from amazon. Thank you for sharing this treasure with us ! i've never heard this one and i' can't wait to get it !
  7. Is it the equivalent of the "Like Sonny" CD on Roulette ?
  8. The dude wrote price guides, delt in remainders and cut-outs and has been kind of cagey about letting people see the computerized inventory lists. Color me skeptical about this being the greatest music collection in the world. Anyway the J. Geils Band album on the right (Full House) is a fine one "first i look at the purse" is one of the titles.
  9. Side B. Finally. I had the same problem tonight with my daughter : she wanted to watch cartoons on TV. But my Don Sleet's All Members, jazzland orange DG original was spinning. I said no. Don Sleet wins.
  10. seller threw me back 75 so now I have to keep it. I can imagine how much better the real thing must sound. thanks for getting me through this tuff time. Well : very simple. if an original DG sells for 1500, it plays ten times better than your 150 no DG.
  11. Note that you have to be pre approved. Does it means that Ebay's staff will check the size of your house ? And.. what if i just want to buy the guy on picture ? is it included in the collection ? Or sold separately ?
  12. Johnny Griffin Quartet : The Kerry Dancers...Riverside DG white label promo. Okay, some pops here and there but who cares ? Brilliant session. After that : Eric Legnini Trio : Miss Soul, on CD. Funky !!
  13. Except for very very rare items, condition is always more important than ears, deep grooves etc... Regarding Riverside, there are so many sound difference between records, that i suggest you to keep the best sounding you have. Moreover, large label and small label are always a confusing way to determinate an original or repress.... -_- Do you want to collects only original first pressings ? or do you want to have vintage pressing to listen to...that is the question. I have not yet found the answer...
  14. Wynton Kelly Trio/ Quartet (with Kenny Burrell) Riverside RLP 254 Original. Wow !! What a nice session !! Those Wyn on Riverside are among the best. And beautiful sound, too.
  15. Don't worry. If you resell it on Ebay, you'll probably find the crazy japanese to get rid of it at 300 $ ( 500 if there are two crazy japanese , 750 if the Taiwanese come along at last second.. . The dummy who thinks that deep groove means that the grooves are deep will pay 200. The other dummy who thinks Blue Note are rare will bring you back your 150. Nothing wrong can happen when you have a Lee Morgan Blue Note for sale !!
  16. Of course, "reserve not met" reserve price maybe be around 2500... i'll buy this one when 1 € = 150 $. Maybe soon...
  17. Hank Mobley : Workout' BLP4080, NY, ear orginal pressing hank Mobley : A Slice of the Top. I love this one. Very acid, angry, sad, liner notes. Mobley's final years were probably like that.. In fact, i don't know..
  18. I like this one ! Teddy Charles on Atlantic are very interesting ! And the earlier "Tentet" is fine, too.
  19. Hank Mobley : Mobley's Second Message. Prestige PLP 7082 447w DG flat edge. This is one of Mobley's finest session, IMO.
  20. Thanks to all ! Porcy, my budget is 100-200 Euros, a little more if needed.
  21. I'd like to change the stylus or cartridge of my Rega Planar 3. I know Rega stylus and cartridge...but what else works well ? Need advice from you, turntables connoisseurs.
  22. I like it ! Do not undestand why "Moonflower" is so overlooked, too.
  23. Duke Pearson " The Phantom" ](Blue Note Liberty original) haunting.... Pete Brown "From the Heart" on Verve original trumpet label DG : its a great session....
  24. Does anyone has opinion about this seller and his noisy advertising policy ?
