I have a lot of music to catch up on. This should keep me occupied all weekend. RVGs of the following Finally rectified my dearth of Jimmy Smith in my collection. I'm thinking more will be forthcoming.

that performance is reason alone to by Blues, if it is still available. Can never get enough of it.

gibson launches self tuning guitar
coooltrane replied to alocispepraluger102's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Sorry, but you realize how many guitar players exist in this world that can't/don't tune without the help of a tuner ? That skill is being lost. Hello 2007. No kidding. Hello 2008. As if I never noticed how many musicians can't hear. "If you have ears, you've got to listen" - Capt. Beefheart Yeah we should also outlaw Accountants who can't add without a calculator. Complex addition and multiplication is such a lost art. Bring back the abacus. -

good stuff. Now that that series is officially over, I might have to finish collecting all the Picks that encompass complete shows.

def one of my favorite Brownie discs. It singlehandedly got my into the man!

Have owned that one for years, but have never been able to get into it. I love many of the discs on the Complete Emarcy Recordings, although in all honesty, the multiple multiple takes does get a little tiresome after a while. Maybe this is something the Ipod can fix.

yes don't put them in those caselogic notebooks. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would potentially ruin their collections by using this form of "storage". Just my two cents.

Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel

So in between tennis, I was flipping around and No Reservations is on and Bourdain is covering Ireland. This show is cool as shit! Nothing like watching him on a train in the morning on his way to Dublin, and the man cracks open a can of Guinness to wash down his breakfast! Sure wish I would've caught the Cleveland episode. Cleveland was a great episode. Bourdain hung out with Michael Ruhlman, Marky Ramone and Harvey Pekar. You can see the episode comic book by clicking here. Thanks for posting that. I missed the Cleveland episode, but I've been watching reruns of previous No Reservations. The thing I like about the show is that he comes across as a real person and there's a lot of true humanity on the episodes I've seen. I wonder what Bourdain's secret is? He sure doesn't put on any weight, considering the amounts of food and alchohol he appears to consume on camera. I don't want to assume that he does a lot of illegal substances, but .... Dude is allegedly a recovering drug addict. -

great. thanks for directing my attention again to that site. As if I don't have enough shows already. I take it you need a password for that site. Just sign up and get your user id. They are trying to get the thing going by year--working on 1973 now. muchas gracias. just got back from a three day downloading marathon. That site is SWEET! Plus I've been swimming in grateful dead DVDS lately.

I like Wonderall, Rockin' Chair, The Masterplan and Do Ya Know What I Mean as some of the lesser played songs. Wait . . does a Beatles cover band (oasis) count ?

now watching 6/29/1989 Shoreline Ampitheater, Mountain View, CA What a killer 2 DVD set ! Wow I love internet downloads.

now playing Sick Bits Vol 9 6/30/1973 I need to put more shows on my ipod! Why am the only one without an IPOD? Lon? I mean, if you won't spring for the hat . . . . . in hindsight i would NEVER EVER EVER buy another IPOD again. One of those other MP3 players MUST have better software. This thing CONSTANTLY frustrates me, between losing about 10 percent of my songs, in addition to the lack of ability to transfer songs FROM the Ipod TO your computer. Plus, if you hold off enough time, you should be able to get a MP3 player that will play FLAC or SHN files ! That'd be so SWEET!! Can you imagine 120 gigs of DEAD FLACs ?
