Watched today Wolfsburg losing in a cruel fashion to the Bayern. Cruel because they had the right tactics and they limited the Munich offense to very few chances before allowing a late goal in the second half, what made it worse is the fact they had a legimate goal disallowed by a linejudge at the end of the first half. If it had standed, who knows how thighs would have developped Question for Manfred or anyone that can answer what is the story between the Munich fans and heir new keeper Saw finally some French action Stade Rennais was hosting the new Rockefellers of Le Championnat PSG. In what was a enjoyable match the host earned a well deserved point by equalizing the score during the last minutes of the match. Only 1 point in two games for the Parisian who have yet to find a groove. The biggest matchup tomorrow is another duel between the rivals of La Liga. -

I never thought it was a good idea at the first place to show parts of your private life on a web site (especially pictures of your friends and family , that said if you never had a problem with this before, there is no reason to stop right now, if you start living your life in fuction of potentials pedophile, rapist or any danger that may loom out there , you're moving into a slippery slope -

I agree, if you had no clue what was he is doing beyond his interest in music , how the heck could you blame yourself for sharing a passion with a dude on the internet or even regret it. Considering the line of work I'm doing, my way of seeing is that people watch too many movies or news show where they focus on the evil side of people without any nuance, the sad truth is quite often that people who do monstruous or really sickening things are often people who look to live a perfectly average life who either will snap and will do the unthinkable or simply living a double life. So unless you're in the know, it's pretty tough to screen people and decide this dude is up to no good. -

Call me naïve, I will give him the benefit of the doubt to prove whether it is the case.

Thanks to a faulty DVR, could not watch French action Managed to watch the Community Shield , can already guess the title of the front pages Misery loves Kompany. Quite an entertaining game, it was played at a quite good level MU showed some vulnerability at defense and the new keeper did not look that great on the second goal but overall they were the better team so they deserved to add some hardware on their shelves. Should be watching tomorrow the Bayern-Monchengladbach game . -

Miss him too, the fact he has similar musical tastes than mine made his posts quite relevant indeed. -

Action started back yesterday, was my first match watched, except for our local club but that's another level, since the extraordinary Champions League final. So sorry did not follow the Copa America, games weren't available on my cable system and I did not want to bother getting them on the grey market. So I watched Dortmund-Hamburg. To make a short resumé, Dortmund was sharp, alert and dynamic, Hamburg was not. Le Championnat Français also starts this weekend will see the defending champs today. Other noteworthy action is the Community Shield this sunday between MU and MC. -
At home reading this. Read two stories so far , quite compelling, now searching for books written by Ricky Jay . By the way I know I picked the cover of the audio book, just could not find a big enough image of the book version.

Is there a rule here that you have to post in every thread even if you loathe the subject , they are plenty of interesting threads throughout this board so why waste time making snide comments about subjects that you don't care about ? You don't care about NFL fine, so what the hell are you doing in this thread in the first place.

Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to deal with those... I just let them be. Still a big space savings from dropping jewel boxes. I let them be and they become I guess easier eye reference for the organisation, regular digipack don't bother me much as they are sometimes a bit thinner than regulad cds, what bugs me are the ones à la Winter & Winter that are as thick as 1 and a half regular CDs.

The ones sold by JazzLoft do the trick ...

What live music are you going to see tonight?
Van Basten II replied to mikeweil's topic in Live Shows & Festivals
Went back to Gig city after a brief hiatus thanks to the help of a fine festival called Nuits D'Afrique (African nights) which focuses on African based music while still stretching a bit towards World Music in general. Saw Grupo Fantasma, their CDs are more interesting than their live playing as they become a bit too much of a dance party band live, their latin musis which incorporates a bit of jazz, reggae, funk and some hip hop tends to turn into something more generical as they try (too much) to please everyone instead of sounding unique nice version of Burning down the house though. Saw Bombino a hell of a band, in the vein of Ali Farka Toure but with more a rock attitude. Think of it Tiniwaren would be a more apt comparaison. Saw last night Oumou Sangaré, very dynamic performer backed by a very capable band. -
For those who have a thing for guys like Tiniwaren , may I suggest that you check out the band Bombino , they made quite a hit a few days ago at our festival Nuits d'Afrique.

With work being quiet, going thjrough a few ones the last few weeks. Interesting stories but this biography falls into the category where it tells more about the guy writing it than the main subject, a bit gossipy for its own good sometimes . The MR X stories were fun though but a definitive story about this man is still needed. Powerful fiction book, quite haunting, it reminded me a bit of Agota Kristoff's writings (The Notebook, Le Grand Cahier) in the way it tells horrible story in such a delicate and casual fashion, well crafted. For the record I read the French translation Finally going through this right now. As knowing very little about him, finding this book very informative, insightful gives the man his dues without falling into the trap of an hagiography. Another solid one by Giddins.
