A kop or supporters section is the section in the stadium where you got people leading the chants to support the local team , it is basically the most animated part of the stadium. From what I get, your son might be part of the kop gametime In montreal we got a raucous one

Saw last night Ambrose Akinmusire and his drummer share a band with Tigran and his bass player , fine evening although AA seems more in his element in his quintet while Tigran finds a way to shine no matter what the circustances may be -
For the Americans who are starting to enjoy the game, why not keeping it on by supporting a MLS franchise preferably the one nearest your hometown , if your players are doing better although as we saw there still is a gap to be filled it is a lot because you finally got a championship that helps develop those guys. The US has made a huge progress in the last 20 years and suprise suprise it is how old this league is. Of course the skill level is not as good as you saw in the WC. Emotions aside you have to go to UEFA Champions league games or top cluib action from the main leagues to see something superior in terms of skills compared to what was displayed the last few weeks. But it is still a quite enjoyable league, the gap between the worst and top team is narrow so that on any given day you can expect suprises, teams are relatively offense minded and do have gaps in defense so you can expect plenty of goals (most teams average at least one goal a game) and a bit like baseball there is something magic about passing an evening or late afternoon watching live action, hearing the chants from the kops.and cheering your local team doing its thing. And maybe you'll find many of the guys you supported during this terrific ride playing in front of your eyes.

Hi Van Basten II, with a name like yours, I'll have to ask. Do you have Dutch origin? I suppose you remember the game in 88? I agree a cup without Germany would be weird eventhough there is always this thing hanging between our two countries. I don't think that will ever go away. France-Algeria was a terrific game. I feel bad for my Algerian friend, and those players had it particularly tough because of the Ramadan. I admire that. regards, page Am actually from Montreal and am a French fan, the reason for my nickname is first I actually admired a lot the player but the symbolism for my nickname on a board like this is that the character I am on this board is a lot like he (MVB) was to me in my life, I've heard a lot about him but I saw unfortunately little of him, as futbol took a long time before being available in an easy fashion (as it is right now) on the air around here. So besides the WC that were broadcast starting in 82 it was not that easy to follow action from Europe, think the first Euro broadcasted here was the 92 Euro.

Part of me is almost glad that Germans made it through, France-Algeria was a scary proposition politically speaking... they are a few business in the south of France whop are breathing a sigh of relief. Good luck to the US today, although so far team that have ended first of their group are 6 for 6.

Saw Ambrose Akinmusire quintet , high quality contemporary jazz gig, but the the highlite of the nite, no forget it more highlite of the year belonged to the good Doctor, Lommie Smith that is who put a smile on everyone's face as with his octet tore up the Gesu with a scorching mostly old school music. Gesu which is a small hall of about 300 reserved seating in the basement of a church with no drinking allowed inside the hall was not the best place for this kind of gig, Smith nonetheless made it a night to remember even using the magic cane (For magic details go see the gig I ain't saying more). In terms of pure unadultarated fun this double set (things they usually don't do in this room) it goes with the Dewey Redman gig held there in 2005. -

Leeway, first time I saw Matana playing was this Coin coin version, It was a rather different cast Here's my post from then Posted 17 June 2008 - 11:16 PM Saw her on stage tonight with this formation Matana Roberts' Mississippi Moonchile with Jeremiah (voice) + Gordon Allen (trumpet) + Shoko Nagai (piano) + Hill Greene (bass) + Tomas Fujiwara (drums) . I still have goosebumps, very personal and emotive music, a formidable and amazing show of around 90 minutes nonstop where they threw everything at us but the kitchen sink. You want free jazz, you got it, you want blues, you got it, you want gospel, you got it. Definitevely a must see show,. -
Costa Rica-Greece was not pretty but it was dramatic, glad to see Concacaf teams do well. If Mexico had managed their games better near the end, someone will have to inform the teams from our confederation that games last 90 minutes plus extra time (US, Mexico and CR all allowed late goals that changed big time the complexion of the game), we could have had our first all Concacaf quarter-finals in a WC.

Saw last night Jacques Kuba-Séguin a trumpet player very much influenced by Stanko played with his own quartet plus a string quarted, very fine show, too bad the economics of the jazz business will make impossible that they keep playing together and get better. Saw Perez-Blade-and Patitucci in a trio without WS, exemplary show. Tonight will be seeing Ambrose Akinmusire in duet with Bill Frisell and later on Mark Turner and Baptiste Trotignon. -
Too bad they stopped this awesomeness in the latter part of the second half and especially during overtime when they started stalling and basically were putting all their bets for the shootout ... If they had kept being agressive and kept puttng pressure maybe they would have forced the inconfortable Brazil's defence to make a fatal mistake . I think James Rodriguez will be followed more closely next season despite him playing in a not so much of a football media hotbed . He currently plays for Monaco, will he be there for long ????

Doubleheader tonight Trixie Whitley and later on Rudresh Mahanthappa's Gamak -
The US team reminds me a bit of these African teams of the 80s and 90s, not exactly tactic and technique wise the cream of the crop but they are athetically gifted in good shape and have great can't lose spirit and have decent depth in their squad. The other keys is that they play other big nation with little complex. Now if they can improve more in terms of technique(especially the 5th to 15th best players of the team) and be less naïve they could be a perrenial top 8 tem in major competition

Saw Beck two nights ago, never saw him live a lot of fun very dynamic show, a mix of classics with numerous pieces from his latest, although quite loud wish I brought earplugs as they had at times 4 musicians playing electric bass or guitars , you could say it was a rockin' show. -
To be frank, it's not that hard to beat, English players are overrated due to the fact that they play in the most popular league in the world...
-
Both teams behaved in not such a sportsmanlike way . If this was wrestling we'd get a double DQ. . Funny thing is that the ref of the "match" is actually nicknamed Dracula

Big game tomorrow at noon, Italy-Uruguay death match...

Two teams already in for the Concacaf, will the US make it three ?

The Deciders (Rudi Mahall, Axel Dörner, Fredrik Ljungkvist, Jon Fält, Ole Morten Vågan) When they get down to it, they are quite good, too bad they like they fool around a lot and act like giggling kids quite often ... -
We've got two German managers and the draw does them both good, wonder what will happen The game today with the most drama today is Croatia and Mexico, both teams qualify with a win , draw is ok for Mexico to go in while Croatia would need a miracle in Brasilia to go with the tie , that is a win by the Cameroon side that has yet to record a goal against the host.

Didn't hear any elevator music when I saw him live either that or your elevators are more interesting than ours
-
What a wild second half it was !! Here's something crazy US may take the top of the group and qualify if they beat Portugal tomorrow !!!!
