He's scheduled to come back to Scullers on May 18th with Esperanza and Bob Hurst. I haven't listened to him since his release Bit**** back in 2011. He looks thinner now. Keyboards???

I'm not back in college, just pretending. This book is packed with examples, formulas, how-to's, etc. I am trying to predict how much a customer is willing to pay for a product in the future. The book is thick, the print is small, and the only pictures are of spreadsheets.

I was at Scullers on Friday. Wayne Escoffery with Rashaan Carter-bass, David Kikoski-piano and Kush Abadey-drums. The band was in top form, playing was spectacular. I wish they played longer but it seems just over an hour is the new norm for a live show.

The Modern Jazz Quartet at Music Inn (Atlantic 1247), guest artist Jimmy Giuffre, recorded August 28, 1956 and The Concert at Music Inn (Atlantic 1298), recorded August 30th. Other guests at the Inn at that time include Herbie Mann, Pee Wee Russell, Rex Stuart, Teddy Charles, Oscar Pettiford, Quincy Jones, Willie 'The Lion' Smith, Ray Brown, Dick Katz and George Wein. There was also a panelist session with Charles Mingus, Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, & Dizzy Gillespie. MJQ was in residency. Funny, there's no mention of Miles.

It's a picture with sound. Composition by Hubble. Space becomes “sonified” in this visualization of a cluster of galaxies imaged by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. Time flows left to right, and the frequency of sound changes from bottom to top, ranging from 30 to 1,000 hertz. Objects near the bottom of the image produce lower notes, while those near the top produce higher ones. Most of the visible specks are galaxies housing countless stars. A few individual stars shine brightly in the foreground. Stars and compact galaxies create short, clear tones, while sprawling spiral galaxies emit longer notes that change pitch. The higher density of galaxies near the center of the image — the heart of this galaxy cluster, known as RXC J0142.9+4438 — results in a swell of mid-range tones halfway through the video. Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys and Wide Field Camera 3 acquired this image on Aug. 13, 2018.

Yes Ghost, today is known as Truck Day in Boston. It's when the Red Sox truck full of spring training gear leaves Boston for Florida.

Bill Banfield from Berklee College of Music is opening a Jazz Cafe https://www.berklee.edu/focused/africana/director Mayor Walsh announced tonight that musician William Banfield will be opening a cafe in Dudley Square's Bolling Building that will couple a restaurant with performances that will range from jazz to dance and theater. Banfield, a professor at Berklee College of Music, says that while his JazzUrbane Cafe will serve up food and entertainment at night, during the day he will open it up for use by community groups and arts organizations. Walsh announced Banfield's selection for the 7,800 square feet of space in the city-owned building during his State of the City address tonight. In a statement, Banfield said: I am excited for the opportunity to create a truly unique experience in Roxbury, to bring back jazz to Dudley Square, and build an establishment that will become a destination for all residents and visitors. An opening date was not announced.

it's likely you've run out of disk space. Felser has good points, knowing more about what you have will help troubleshoot. I'll assume you're running Win 10. Here's what I would do before trashing the PC. 1. Make a backup of your data. Use the default OS backup program and point it to an external HDD. 2. Reset your PC. Under Settings, Update & Security. Look for Reset this PC. Click on the getting started button. When prompted to remove personal files say yes. This will factory reset your system. 3. Relaunch windows. Test your system for performance. If it's working fine then you'll only need to bring back files from your backup. When it's time to bring back your files, do it incrementally by folder, bring back only what you need. If you save everything to My Documents you should be fine migrating all that data back. Be more careful with system files and logs - most is unnecessary junk and what might be needed is often rebuilt by the SW program. Save that backup drive, do not use it for anything until you've determined that you have all the files you want to keep. I tell everyone who is in a market for a new PC to wait as long as possible. Spectre and Meltdown viruses are still not patched, and won't be until a new architecture is in place. WAIT....I just saw your specs post. Windows 8??? They may have quietly re-launched the free upgrade to Windows 10. After backing up your data try to upgrade. If not, try to downgrade to Win 7. If you're able to do either select the option that resets your PC. In both cases you'll likely need to have freed up HDD space (delete your files after backup) before you upgrade. Windows 8 is full of bugs. Given you're on version 8, see if there is a windows 7 backup option on your windows 8 OS. If it's there, use that for your backup.
