  1. Yeah, that goes without saying.
  2. I really like that logic!
  3. This is actually rather unusual weather, by far the worst in my 12 years here. Palm Beach County (where both Dan and I live) has actually not gotten hit by a bad hurricane for 25 years prior to this.
  4. Here in Wellington it doesn't look like they picked up anything. Tying it up or using a tarp aren't bad ideas. Better than leaving it loose. Do you have room in your garage?
  5. We lost some large trees. Fortunately they all missed our house. Unfortunately they're all cut up and sitting in front of our house waiting to be turned into missiles by Jeanne. You're in Boca, right?
  6. Happy b-day Ronald!
  7. Good luck Dan. Have any damage from Francis?
  8. The Smith arrived today. Thanks!!!
  9. Will spin ALS tonight as I prepare for yet another hurricane.
  10. I can't argue with that. Rather sad that three of the four died in their primes so prematurely with lots of music and ideas yet to be explored.
  11. Can you imagine it? A front line of Trane & Woody with Tapscott or Weston...or both. Rounding out the band, I'd have to go with Mingus and Tony Williams or Max Roach. I can almost hear their verion of "Impressions".
  12. Of course we both know they'll find their way into your collection sooner rather than later!
  13. Mine:
  14. Ditto as well even though I already have all of the Pullen sessions. Can you say ebay? Between these, the Miles & Ayler boxes and the new Conns, my preorders the past few days now exceed $300!
  15. I don't know. I think Woody's playing is top-notch. Might agree on Henderson however I've always preferred JH as a sideman anyway.
  16. It's all on the box set. In fact, there's still one track from this session ("Gazelle") that's not on the CD due to time constraints. It appears on "In Pursuit Of Blackness" in addition to the box. PS-Marty: We met through a discussion of the box set. Recall?
  17. I kinda liked this Hill DWD cover which I had dug up way back when. I love this session. Can't understand why it took so long to make it to CD.
  18. Agreed. Love Woody on this. One of my favorite of his sideman gigs. Other than the fact that these are mostly JH compositions, Woody could have easily gotten equal billing. Not a big fan of e-piano myself but for the most part it didn't bother me. However, on a few occasions I did find myself imagining an acoustic one in its place.
  19. Pretty rarely. What I don't like today I may like at some time in the future. Late Coltrane is a good example. There have been a few that I've hated so badly that I got rid of immediately. McCoy Tyner's "What The World Needs Now" was one, despite my being a huge McCoy fan. Much too syruppy for my liking.
  20. ...you've got a problem... Yep. I plan to be buried with all my unlistened to CDs. At least they'll keep my coffin down in case of flooding.
  21. Including live CDRs and CDRs of LPs I've got over 5000 all tolled. Over 80% of it is jazz.
  22. I received both today as well. Hadn't realized there was a problem as I haven't gotten to the set yet. Received the replacements and quickly checked this thread to determine why.
  23. Sent you a PM on the Tzadik Smith.
  24. Picked up tix for both nights yesterday. Surprisingly my wife wanted to go. Seemingly there's plenty of good seats available as I ended up with 5th row on the side. Any other South Floridians planning on going?
