  1. When I started collecting jazz I did concentrate the first years more on big bands so I have also some Dizzy big bands together. If you are interested a bit more I can list them FYI or select the earlier ones. On the one Newport live album he has a terrific and humourful presentation for the bariton sax in the band. Its really a highlight and typical Gillespie. Also his singing on one more track is great. You should not miss it.   8. Its hard to follow the Parker recordings because they are distributed and redistributed in various order and on LP's always with different LP titles. Have this one (+ the vol. 2 & 3) with some big band tracks Discogs lists these tracks for your album but no detailed data for the band. Have to check Lords for more Info.   15. Some time ago I did reply to the topic of this thread. I am really a big band fan. I admit that BB are not too often discussed at Organissimo. Re your question: This is a nice west coast label ( Now SeaBreeze Jazz) and I have quite a bit of this label. Very good vinyl pressing quality and recently also CD's. If you are interested I can run a query from my Paradox database for you (pm if you wish) because its quite a list.
