Just bought 4 Dorothy Ashby reissues on that (dubious) Italian label Sowing Records distributed by the mailorder service "JAZZ MESSENGERS"

One more remark: Is there a complete compilation of David Stone's coverart available? His drawing is among the best you can have but the Interest is not to great. Have started a thread in another forum but traffic for that topic is not what I had imagined would be. Someone should start that masterlist of cover art books. W.B.

Cant remember if I submitted some Info on the 8 volumes of Down Beat record reviews compiling all rated albums for the years 1956 to 1963. Missed only the Vol. VII (1962) and have the rest here. Even tastes are different these are a good help to find excellent albums rated by professional critics. If someone is interested in the rating od a special album from that timespan I can do a scan. BTW "Free Jazz" is not my cup of tea ;-]]

MGM E3390 / [Japan 1995 POJJ-1576] - West Coast Versus East Coast / A Battle Of Jazz with Leonard Feather" - rec. 1956?

Stumbled over this thread and have the two above mentiond Items in my stock a) My copy of Americans in Europe Impulse A-36 Stereo seems to be a regular Impulse 1972 pressing with the label Impulse/abc as printed label logo b) My copy of Count Basie and the Kansas City 7 has the normal gatefold Impulse cover but on the backside a print "MCA Records - licensed by" and that described "rainbow MCA label" inside. As London Jazz Collector shows there were a lot of label changes inc. the MCA version over the years. Will check my complete Impulse Stock and come back if there are more differences between the frontcover and the labe inside.
