That’s a really good box set, which I need to dig out again. I also have pretty well all (I think) of the Japanese pressing Nocturne series on LP. I think they were done by Toshiba. Congrats that is really good. Have the CD-box plus some vinyls as the Virgil Gonsalves LP and a Herbie Harper 5tet. Missing the Bud Shank LP among others.

Re NLP 1 Herbie Harper Quintet Yes it is and was also reissued in this CD box with other great Nocturne albums A volume 2 never appeared however!

Have looked up the 1974 rating for "Street lady". Hopefully you can read the 2 added scans. As it turns out "Black Byrd" was not rated in DB and " Street Lady" received a 2 ** rating. Some references in the text were made to "Black Byrd" Thats all I found.

Folk Jazz / The Bill Smith Quartet

Have the quintet recordings on Savoy 12093. The rest seem to be trio recordings?

One of my favorites on the classical guitar. Have seen him once live . Great artist
