  5. Yes my top favorite on guitar. Great his recordings with Eddie Costa playing that very percussive piano with his left hand. Was also in touch with the author of this fine discography compiling coverart and Down Beat articles.

  19. 👍 Yep! Herbolzheimer had issued a nice BB series on the german PANDA label. Another great bb sampler is this one
  20. Interesting comp. Have all that material on Stans own label Creative World. When he started his "Neophonic Thing" he lost me. He sounded best with the Bill Holman arrangements.
  21. One of the true "classics" with Woody. Have the original Capitol vinyl. BTW beside Kenton Woody is a great part of my total big band stock. Other great examples are Shorty Rogers, Buddy Rich, Bob Florence, Basie & Duke. Cant name them all but big band is a fine cathegory of jazz for me.
