  1. Albert Ayler Quartet Copenhagen Live 1964 (hathut 2017) European Radio Studio Recordings (hathut 2016)
  2. Two recent Myra Melford recordings
  3. David S. Ware Quartet with strings
  4. Louis Armstrong Plays W.C. Handy (1954), Analog Spark (2016)
  5. Also worth mentioning is the sound quality, the best sounding Monk records I have. Just great.
  6. Monk in Tokyo (1963) on Speakers Corner (2016). Unlike the recent Les Liaisons Dangereuses release, this one did not get the attention it deserves.
  7. My son's Lego Yellow Submarine
  8. Han Bennink and Myra Melford apparently having lots of fun... and the recent Vinny Golia release on Dark Tree. What a find. Mark Weber's liner notes reveal that Dark Tree is also working on another release from Vinny Golia's archive, a KPFK radio broadcast he recorded two month earlier with John Carter and Bobby Bradford. Thanks for digging out these treasures, Bertrand, and everyone else involved.
  9. Two great solo performances from Peter Brotzmann and Anthony Braxton on VICTO.
  10. From Kai Winding to Albert Mangelsdorff: A very informative essay about Mangelsdorff's influence on German and European jazz was published recently by Bill Shoemaker: http://pointofdeparture.org/archives/PoD-58/PoD58PageOne.html A great piece of research and highly recommended reading.
  11. The Complete Thelonious Monk at the It Club (Mosaic)
  12. The David S. Ware Quartets - Live in the World Right now listening to "The Way We Were".
  13. It has been mentioned before but its worth repeating: a John Carter Root and Folklore set would be a great addition to the Mosaic catalogue. Its such a shame that 4/5 of these recordings have not been available for a long time.
