  1. Yes, I also can imagine such a reaction. There are similar reactions posted in response to the NYT article I linked earlier. Probably depends on what you are expecting, they are certainly not playing in the tradition. But give them another chance, Unfold is the right place to start, my favorite Necks album so far. Quite fascinating to hear the extensive soundscapes that can be produced with these three instruments. Unlike previous vinyl I got from The Necks, Unfold is perfectly pressed. Friday will be my first live experience with The Necks, I will report back. Thanks, very much looking forward to this!
  2. Same here on an Android device I don't have any bookmarks I could use. Problem was "solved" by switching to another network.
  3. In anticipation of seeing them live later this week: The Necks - Unfold (Ideologic Organ, 2017) An enthusiastic review of The Necks recently appeared in the New York Times: https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/10/04/magazine/my-obsession-with-the-necks-the-greatest-trio-on-earth.html?referer=android-app://com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
  4. This album has been reissued on vinyl in 2017 by the Italian re-issue label "Jeanne Dielman". Has anyone here experience with the quality of the re-issues of this label? I don't find any information online.
  5. I saw Chris Potter with McCoy Tyner and Jose James in 2012 giving their version of the Coltrane/Hartman Impulse album. Potter was great (as were Tyner and James). I also like his three releases on ECM. The Sirens from the album of the same name is a personal favorite.
  6. Stunning, isn't it? I can't get enough of it.

  19. Was the cover designed by Peter Brotzmann? Looks very much like his style.
