Bought this recently based on recommendations in this forum. Very much enjoy it.

I can understand. It must have been a great evening. I am not sure but it seems the Sonore trio is no longer active, at least I am not aware of any recent performances. I certainly would have liked to see them. I selected this LP yesterday after watching the documentary "Soldier of the Road" about PB, which includes a great performance of Sonore in Wuppertal 2008 and interviews with the members. I am very greatful to Trost records for releasing and re-issuing a good part of the Brotzmann catalog on vinyl.

Currently watching: Han Bennink and Joris Roelofs (in Dutch) Edit: Just saw they are giving a concert tomorrow in Utrecht, NL. Would love to see this.

At least on digital media, I have more recordings from Myra Melford than from any other artist. I have been following all her releases since the first time I saw her live with the Extended Ensemble more than 20 years ago.

The Necks were great and very unique! As usual, they played two sets, each for about one hour. Chris Abrahams started the first set and Lloyd Swanton the second. That's probably the one thing they decide in advance. I liked both sets but preferred the second. When I closed my eyes, I often had the feeling of witnessing a much larger ensemble, they generate a big wall of sound. All members are very impressive and I particularly liked Lloyd Swanton's playing. He used the bow in the slower passages of both sets and switched to plucking when they took off. Highly recommended experience.

He certainly gets some attention. The interview even made it to the front page of a major German online news portal (Spiegel Online), placed right after the news of a new government in Germany and a new fall of the Dow Jones Industrial index. It's a rare event to see a jazz musician featured so prominently in the news.

Yes, I am so happy to see this announcement. These will be Peter Brotzmann's first Australian concerts since 2010. You are really lucky to have Cafe Oto in London. I lived in London for a couple of years in the past but unfortunately a few years before Cafe Oto was established. Thanks!

A short heads-up for Australian members: I just saw on Peter Brotzmann's homepage that he will be touring Australia between April 28 and May 4, 2018. Yes!
