  1. was just looking at my Thad/Mel lp that might be the cd jpg but my lp says next to the BN logo: "Solid State Series" im looking at the discog and my collection- cant find another, have you seen another listed as such? BST 84346
  2. not tonight but you guys wont believe this one--- so ive been excited about in may, ill get to see trower AND keith richards within the span of a week. i mean imagine that- two guitar heroes, what a week! well theres an update to the excitement. sandwiched between those two, are multiple nights of NEIL!
  3. You know what i learned- that 1st columbia lp of is Water Boy, is a REISSUE of one of his Cadence lps, with a new cover. Why he just didnt make a new album, i do not know
  4. god i cant believe theyve been doin it this long- anyone know what year this is? you know i was thinking, isnt it kind of ironic keith wasnt no audience noise, but really hes the one making noise, his vocal noises are espically out of control here. they had to actually close comments on the post cause hes so polaizaing i guess, but overall i like him for sure interesting- that era PJ lps are nothing to write home about pressing quality-wise, sounds like they could of done a better job, which sucks cause by now youd think theyd know how to do it
  5. Do you all know here how Jerry was really influenced by ken nordine, and he speaks in interviews of how influential the word jazz lp was to him and in the 90s he actually guested with them, i think he did a recitation over 'space'.........
  6. could you use this as leverage to score some tape copies, for investment purposes- i propose a box set----- (god i hit one wrong button up above and the formatting got all screwed up) HANK MOBLEY QUINTET: (Probably) Famous Ballroom, Baltimore, MD (Recorded by the Left Bank Jazz Society), 11-28-65-- Hank Mobley (Tenor Sax), Johnny Coles (trumpet), Ruben Brown (Piano), Wilbur Little (Bass), Bertell Knox (Drums). HANK MOBLEY QUARTET: Crystal Ballroom (Recorded by the Left Bank Jazz Society), 4-10-66-- Hank Mobley (Tenor Sax), McCoy Tyner (Piano), Eddie Marshall (Bass), Jack DeJohnette (Drums). HANK MOBLEY QUINTET: (Probably) Madison Club, Baltimore, MD (Recorded by the Left Bank Jazz Society), 5-15-66-- Hank Mobley (Tenor Sax), Freddie Hubbard (Trumpet), Ronnie Matthews (Piano), Paul Chambers (Bass), Philly Joe Jones (Drums). ---HANK MOBLEY // WYNTON KELLY GROUP: LEFT BANK 1970
  7. it came today: i havent been getting every upgrade (or any upgrades) but this one i immediately needed- i do wish that instead of the extra sets of notes (musican notes / critic notes)--- the archivist notes were the best, i wish the could of included a photograph of the tape reel, that would of been good
  8. oh yes those are big names too,
  9. my dawgs I actually don't know if we're approaching this from the right direction- think about the people in 3rd world countries might want to experience coltrane prestige box, the only way that music might be able to reach them, is through these shady new issues-
  10. Whats with Georgia, first hank, jimmy carter, then little richard, then the allman bros, then jeffcrom, then YOU. This lp meets multiple criteria for one i would want to consider getting, its a guy i know its good who i need more stuff of, and its from '89, a big year in record collecting!!!! did muse even make lps into '90-- thats ballz dawg- i bet 90% of ppl on the board w/ this album have it on CD IS IT VANGLEDER STAMPED? oh i see it was cut at a regular studio, prob not rvg'd, i KNOW ive seen period vangelder stamps on somethin or another
  11. lets fight about something...........no wait i agree with you!!!!!!! i saw a "prog" meme and its all if u think the grammys was ballz what about: and it listed rick and keith etc- but it was totally misinformed as the alicia keys spot was a tribute to hazel scott and her famous film!
  12. who are the musicans you see in the clip! Is that joe pass in there?
  13. yea these have aged horribly but i think its "of the time"---- the 1st time i heard the term i think was seeing greyboy all stars, and i havent heard it used it years. It IS a genre though, I can spot the sound although i dont hear it much anymore. I think it might of evolved into "chillwave" ever heard of chillwave?
  14. forgive me, most of us know this as a record: but wow i didnt know prestige did this-
  15. i dont know what lincoln center is up to right here, but i think im okay with it
  16. bro we got a ---SNOW--- forcast for the weekend---- looking at the different projection models i might be forced to jam "live bullet" instead....
  17. Benny on CBS! wowoow! https://www.cbsnews.com/news/a-great-day-in-harlem-remembering-the-iconic-1958-photograph-of-legendary-musicians/?fbclid=IwAR0FO5QZqGL6ue82pdAGQX-U2phVb50Ro-yT_z3AVrIv9k09eLtgNgz7wYY
